Express Inn & Suites Eugene

We made a reservation online through their website and had to cancel 10 days later, which I did over the phone. That was two weeks before our reservation. We were still charged for our room. When I called to get a refund, I was called a liar and they denied I ever cancelled the reservation. They said I made the reservation the day before, when I actually made it 1 month before. Sounds like it is run by a husband and wife and she was hostile to me over the phone.

The first sign of welcome that started to draw me into this space was the warmth and tenderness that I felt when I was greeted on the phone by Tonya. That lovely phone interaction then lead to an in person experience that cascaded into more warmth and comfort. Tonya's kindness, sincerity, and even the gentleness in her voice was something that I will always remember and carry with me.

I booked a stay at Express Inn & Suites months in advance and forgot to cancel it when my plans changed. On the day the reservation began, I was charged the full amount. While I accepted that I'd never get that money back, I received a call from the manager, Tonya, who said she would see what she could do about getting me a partial refund. Whatever comes of it, I appreciate the gesture very much and wanted to leave a five-star review for that customer service.

After driving many hours, we finally got to Eugene. We were exhausted, got the room, took a shower, and went to sleep. Despite the tiredness, glaring problems soon became apparent: no smoke/carbon monoxide alarm, bed not made properly, also very bad bed, huge cobwebs, dirty floors, bugs and dirt in corners, broken window lock (and the window was open), broken screens, and very poor customer service.

We booked this hotel (motel) a year in advance of the 2022 Athletics World Championships because it was the only one we could find that was offering affordable rates at the time and we wanted to be sure of having accommodation for the games. It is a 2-star motel and doesn’t pretend to be anything more! The rooms are basic but clean, but if you are staying for several nights, your room will only be made up if you ask for it. However, the staff are really nice and nothing was too much trouble. Loads of restaurants and pubs in the vicinity.

Terrible buissness practices saying I didn’t stay there or I did in a diffrent room and still not refunding my deposit saying they don’t have a card on file but I have a charge on my account from them. Absolutely zero accountability for sleezy slimey atrocious buissness practices. The room was also falling apart at the seems DO NOT STAY HERE they are scamming people out of there money.

The location was fine, and that's the best thing it had going for it...The TV didn't work, yes, I checked, and it was plugged in etc...No wifi code was given to me upon my late check-in at 11pm after arriving from an evening flight. Bed was average, room was clean, but no coffee maker available. So I was excited to head down to the free continental breakfast as advertised on their website and ***********. NOPE none of that was no longer available...sorry! Finally got the wi-fi password for a 9AM mandatory meeting I needed to be on (Without the coffee I really wanted) and the wifi kept erring out on me, which meant the Google Teams connection didn't work. I gave up and drove to the nearest Starbucks and spent $11 on coffee and breakfast, but HEY, THEIR WIFI WORKED! After the meeting, I went back to pack up and leave and asked for a cup of ice, for ice water before I took off, but NOPE, ' Sorry! No ice available at this motel either...Trust me, it's worth it to spend a little more and go to a place that actually gives you a TV, working Wifi, a cup of coffee, and possibly a small breakfast, not to mention, a cup of ice...Their casualness about being so un-helpful, was a mind-blower too. To add insult to injury, I thought I'd have a way to review them on ***********, but the auto-link, after my stay, never popped up, so I went to hunt it down, and it was impossible to leave a review there - So thank-you Trip Advisor, for letting me gripe and whine, so I feel better about what a totally lame stay I had at this place...I did like their gorgeous blooming orange calendula plant that they had in front though. Yay! Signed NEVER AGAIN!

The only thing I can complain about is the tweaker who woke up the entire hotel at 1:30 am screaming and shattered a window. Is that really the hotels fault? I guess you get those kinds of people when your prices are so low.

Where to start? Let's see from the minute we checked in the manger was completely unprofessional and rude (to all the guest not just my party) within 5 minutes she was banging on the door to tell us to keep it down but all we had done was carry our stuff in. The room was cold and had a weird smell two of the pillows didn't have cases on them, the floors were dirty, the waste basket in the bathroom didn't have a bag and the sink had hair in it. the guest next to us had the TV blaring non-stop and had a cat in the window but the manger insisted it was a pet free motel. She walked around with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth all day was dressed very unprofessionally and her clothes were dirty she never had a face mask on but insisted all guest had to in the parking lot, even if they were just heading to their car. the maids were all on some kind of ***** and all acted really weird and we're very unfriendly, we were afraid to leave any valuables in the room because of the employees and guess that were on the same ***** as the maids it seemed. And as if we would have eaten it but there was no complimentary breakfast as advertised either. Over all it was the worst motel experience I have ever had.
