The location is a bit remote but the service is very good. There are two swimming pools in the hotel that you can use freely. There are waiters at the front desk 24 hours a day, so you don’t have to worry about there being no customer service staff.

Review: Pestana Gramacho Residences ligt in een rustige, mooie omgeving en is ideaal voor golfliefhebbers. De appartementen zijn ruim en modern ingericht, met een prachtig uitzicht op de golfbaan. Toch waren er tijdens ons zesdaagse verblijf meerdere teleurstellende aspecten. De schoonmaak liet te wensen over: in zes dagen tijd is er slechts één keer schoongemaakt en de bedden zijn maar één keer opgemaakt. Bij aankomst stond er één fles water klaar in de kamer, ongeacht het aantal gasten of dagen. Het voelt oneerlijk dat zes daggasten zes flessen water krijgen, terwijl wij met twee personen voor zes dagen slechts één fles kregen. Daarnaast waren de keukenkastjes in slechte staat en leken ze haast van de muur te vallen, wat de indruk gaf dat er sprake was van achterstallig onderhoud. Het ontbijt wordt niet in het hotel geserveerd, maar op de golfbaan, wat vooraf niet duidelijk vermeld stond. Er is een gratis shuttleservice tussen het hotel en de golfbaan voor ontbijt, maar als je daar geen gebruik van maakt, betaal je in feite mee voor andere gasten (voornamelijk golfers) die deze service wel gebruiken. Dit voelt oneerlijk voor niet-golfende gasten. Een ander groot nadeel is de locatie. Zonder eigen huurauto zit je letterlijk in the middle of nowhere. Er zijn geen winkels, restaurants of andere voorzieningen op loopafstand, wat erg onhandig is als je niet mobiel bent. Hoewel de omgeving en rust veel goedmaken, zijn de tekortkomingen in service, transparantie en locatie een groot minpunt. Pestana Gramacho Residences heeft veel potentie, maar deze ervaring liet te wensen over.

Don’t play golf here. The greens are under some sort of maintenance and don’t get cut. Horrible experience. Pestana don’t tell you why this is the case and there are many more great courses, in better condition than this one. Pity, because I’ve enjoyed this course on many occasions.
