October saw our third visit to ikos Andalusia, this time with family in tow. A lovely stay had by all but I don’t feel the holiday matched up to the magic of our first visit. Pros The resort itself is gorgeous, landscaped beautifully. WhatsApp concierge was very responsive & helpful. Great variety of places to eat. Friendliness of staff, always with a smile & a hello. Location is great for venturing outside the resort. Kids shows in the evening were great, thoroughly enjoyed by my toddler. Cons Some decor starting to look a little worse for wear, some items (loungers, sofas etc) could do with a bit of TLC. Quality of food has noticeably fallen & menus lack the diversity the used to. A lot of restaurants seem to have a different variation of the same dish. Lack of entertainment is something I’ve mentioned after each stay - they could do with a bit more going on through the day. Bar service the slowest we’ve experienced, especially the main lobby and pool bar. Materials used in and around swimming pools is a danger for little feet - my son ended up with multiple cuts on his feet just from a day at the pool. We were already booked to come back in May and while I’m looking forward to our stay, I think it may be our last ikos visit for a while, time to explore new resorts. Unfortunately although ikos andalusia is still a fantastic resort the quality isn’t matching the increased prices and the gap is widening between cost and value.
