Hotels Near Schwanhildenbrunnen in Essen

I stayed here for a month whilst working in Essen. Receptionist friendly helpful and spoke excellent English. I was upgraded to an executive room, which was dated but clean and spacious and included a fridge. I was thankful for the air conditioning as the weather was hot at the time of my stay but would have preferred a sheet instead of the thick quilt. Breakfast was the standard offering but a rip off at €21 - you get a far better and cheaper breakfast at similar hotels. There’s a bar and an evening menu but this wasn’t always open however when it was the barman was great to have a chat with and get some local knowledge. There’s power sockets by the bedsides and WiFi was good. Location is good being just a 5 min walk to the underwhelming and disappointing city centre. It’s also only a 5 min walk to the metro which offers great value and for a fee of €9, gets you anywhere, although this was during a summer promotion. As a resident you get access to a gym across the road. The house keeping was at times quite poor with surfaces not wiped down. Overall a convenient place to stay but in need of modernisation which I think is a possibility in the future.

The front desk closed at 22 o'clock. I didn't see this message on Ctrip. When I waited, the person in charge of the hotel had already driven away and was about to leave. When he saw us coming, he came out angrily and scolded us. Fortunately, we were able to successfully stay later. Got off The room is small, but the bed and TV are quite big. There is a student apartment opposite. You can see clearly from their room, so it is recommended to close the curtains. The biggest drawback is that the sound insulation of the door is extremely poor. It is almost as if there is no door. You can clearly hear the opening and closing of the door in the next room, and even the sound of the TV and alarm clock. In the morning, the sound of the cleaners making phone calls in the corridor is just like... It's like it's right in my room, so scary The pillows are very flat and uncomfortable. The bed is okay. The shower space is a bit small. People with taller bodies may find it more uncomfortable. The service was pretty good when checking out (maybe it was because of a different person)

The average Vd Valk feels only then Sheraton. By the name of this hotel, you expect a high-class hotel (for the price certainly) friendlyly received and helped at the reception and after check-in as the bags taken from the car that stood under the hotel's parking garage. It remains special that you have to pay for parking at a hotel. Certainly with the current hotel prices, this may be free and does not feel guest-free. The room was beautifully large (but a place to get the bag was not there so only on the ground. In this modern time you expect to be able to connect a laptop, Chrome cast or anything to a TV, however, it was so closely timing with their own system that there was Nothing was possible. If the TV broadcasts were still international, but very many Germans with one single English broadcast there. On day 1 at breakfast (which is possible in weekend until 11:00) The first day no one was at the entrance and the servants ran almost running to clean the tables. When you walk in at 10 a.m. you expect the bread baskets to be just kept full, this was not the case immediately. Day 2 was even more strange. We went through because no one was standing but a servant came almost to us, pressing a sheet with a pen in the hand, and calling for something to fill, and I had to put my name, my room, my signature, and we don't know why. But even more strangely, not as it should be, but put the sheet on the desk but no one who took it right away and so there was a name and signature so for grip! And now again, two small special breads and only when we were almost resurrecting to walk away, there were some new croissants, all together, not more than a costly average hotel that I had not expected from a hotel with this name.

The building is nicely furnished. It looks like a breeding plant. The entrance area is depressing, no attractive furniture or other furniture that give a guest even minimally the impression and feeling of being in a hotel. The mattress (at least in my room) is over, the room was rather modest. The bathroom and the room were clean. The walls are bright and I must say the room neighbors had a satisfactory evening or a satisfactory night. The price of € 70 for one night to the second is rather too high for this ”hotel” but experiences cost money.

We were there for a weekend and felt very comfortable. The room was fine, as was the service and breakfast. There was always someone to contact who was available to help and advise. However, the behavior of some guests is sometimes puzzling to me. Hotel employees are just that. Employees. Not personal serfs. In my opinion, it is absolutely reasonable to wait your turn instead of immediately calling for more ”staff” and the manager. Like every other guest, we were informed when we checked in that, due to sustainability and high energy costs, the room is only cleaned and refilled every third day. If we were missing something, we just had to let us know. We thought that was OK. Other guests apparently didn't. I don't know how you can use up 2 rolls of toilet paper in less than 24 hours, but I know that you just had to ask nicely. Then the employees would have been just as nice to provide the guest with more rolls. Not listening and not reading, followed by loud outrage, is not a good combination.

Also die Dusche als ich die gesehen habe dachte ich mir, ok das wird mein stammhotel, nur leider 1 punktabzug für den überhaupt nicht passenden duschkopf, erstens zu schwach und zweitens zu nah an der Ecke, das war so richtig enttäuschend, nichts destotrotz würde ich da wieder buchen, hoffe nur das der Geschäftsmann mal sich überlegt diese Kleinigkeit zu verbessern für die Perfektion. Ausserdem ist der Boden die aller beste Wahl die man haben konnte, bei den anderen hat man immer ein Ekel bekommen, bei dem habe ich mich getraut barfuss zu laufen Danke

We`ve booked a room for 3 but it wasn`t ready, so we were put in 2 adjusted rooms, which was great. Had the best sleep in there. Very friendly staff, breakfast was absolutly beatiful as well. Definetely going back, if we are on the way and need a sleep in between journeys

Viel Schatten, wenig Licht es gibt in diesem Hotel zwei verschiedene Kategorien: Standard und Superior wir hatten Superior gebucht. Am Samstag bei Anreise wurden wir sofort gebeten, die Zimmerrechnung zu bezahlen. Das ist ungewöhnlich, aber ok. Als wir dann das Zimmer betraten, stellen wir fest, dass wir eine falsche Kategorie bekommen hatten. Also zurück zur Rezeption. Die junge Dame war völlig überfordert und bestätigte, dass wir ein Standardzimmer bekommen hatten und kein Superior. Sie holte sich Hilfe bei Herrn F. Welche Funktion er hat, wissen wir nicht. er hat sich nicht vorgestellt. Allerdings schaute er in den Computer und sagte, dass er jetzt am Samstag Abend nichts mehr tun könne, das Hotel sei ausgebucht. Als Kompensation und Entschädigung würde er uns für den folgenden Morgen zum Frühstück einladen, und ein Zimmerwechsel am nächsten Tag. Mehr könne er für uns nicht tun. Damit war das Gespräch für ihn beendet und wandte sich wieder seiner Restaurantkasse zu. Nach unserer Auffassung ist dieses Verhalten Betrug. Er hatte unser Geld schon kassiert. Für 2 Nächte Superior Zimmer! Am nächsten Morgen sprachen wir dann mit einer netten Kollegin an der Rezeption. Frau M. war im Gegensatz zu ihrem Kollegen kompetent und handlungswillig. Sie organisierte den Zimmerwechsel, erstattete den zuviel bezahlten Superioraufschlag und eine Kompensation für die gestörte Nachtruhe. Der Unterschied zwischen Standard und Superior ist die Lage: Hauptverkehrsstrasse und Innenhof. und wir hatten ausdrücklich Innenhof bestellt. Nach der positiven Überraschung an der Rezeption der zweite Schock: das Frühstück. Das Hotel wird durch die Lage zum Musical vornehmlich von Busgruppen frequentiert. Wir hatten uns schon erst zu 10 Uhr für das Frühstück vorbereitett, um dem Ansturm der Busgruppen aus dem Weg zu gehen. Aber es war eine Katastrophe! Die drei Servicekräfte waren heillos überfordert. Schlachtfeld trifft es wohl am Besten. und keiner der Mitarbeiter war in der Lage etwas Ordnung in das Chaos zu bringen. Wenn Sie irgendwie können, suchen Sie sich ein anderes Hotel! Und wenn Sie es schon nicht vermeiden können, dann buchen Sie unbedingt Superior. Erstens ist an Schlaf bei Zimmern der Standardkategorie zur Strassenseite nicht zu denken und zweitens finden Sie dort eine Einrichtung, die wohl noch aus dem 70er Jahren stammt. Die Superiorzimmer sind zur ruhigen Hofseite und sehen aus, als wenn sie in den 90er Jahren mal renoviert wurden. (auch schon 30 Jahre her....) Selbst die Nähe zum Musicaltheater macht es nicht erträglicher. Das Musical selbst ist auch nach 30 Jahren immer noch eine Reise wert!

Nice hotel. The lady at the reception/bar was very friendly and working very hard. The lobby is nice with some cosy chairs and couches. Rooms are simple , but clean and really quiet. Shower had a decent water pressure. Breakfast was tasty, good variety of food.
