Agni Suites are in an incredibly desirable location - right by the sea. You have the enviable choice of deciding whether to lie on a sun longer in the beautiful garden by the pool, or right on the beach, a metre from the water’s edge. It is, however, 1.6 km to the centre of Nikiana, where there are various restaurants and three supermarkets. Walking there is not really an option as the road is busy and has no pavement. We had to pay 20 euros each evening for a return taxi ride as we wanted to eat out each evening. Taxis are also difficult to come by at the weekend as those are the two busiest airport days for the local taxis. The pool is beautiful. It is warm and you’re never out of your depth, and always stunningly cleaned - thanks to Spiros. The beach is stony, with a jetty from which you can swim. If you want to paddle your way in, then you can buy some special beach shoes from Reception, for just 9 euros. The sea is wonderfully warm. There were plenty of sun loungers when we stayed in September, but I would imagine that in July and August it would be difficult to have one. People who were staying at the same time as us were selfishly leaving towels or other belongings on numerous sunloungers. I think there needs to be a sentence added on to the guest info that is left in the suites, asking people to take over just one lounger per adult. Breakfasts were really lovely: an excellent variety of things and all cooked items were beautifully cooked. The breakfast lady is charming and helpful. Our apartment (Prince Suite) was really lovely. A very comfortable bed, although the pillows could have been better. Effective air con and a useful kitchen. The shower was brilliant but the towels had had their day to be honest - thin and rather worn out. The suite was cleaned and linen changed every two days which I thought was impressive. We were warmly welcomed by Panayiota. She is an excellent manager and nothing is too much trouble. Her sister Jenny and brother Spiros were also very helpful and friendly. They made you feel welcome.
