Campanile Epernay - Dizy

Accueil souriant et aimable - chambre propre, mais très simple - literie impeccable. Petit déjeuner copieux et gourmand. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié cet hôtel à un prix raisonnable. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir. Un lieu idéal pour visiter la Champagne du côté Epernay.

A very sad Campanile for a Friday evening. We had planned to have dinner at the hotel to avoid having to go out again, but bad luck the restaurant is closed on Friday evening. This is understood with the number of customers (car in the parking lot). Accommodation wise, nothing special, it's a Campanile. However, we asked to change rooms because the heating thermostat was out of order. The second bedroom did have temperature regulation, however the toilet did not flush! The staff was friendly and above all very responsive to our small problems. Breakfast with a wide choice and fresh products.

We spent one night with a group in this hotel: friendly welcome, hotel well located for traveling around Champagne. Correct room, good bedding, quiet environment. Good service for the evening meal, appreciated by all. Very nice breakfast buffet. The picnics the next day prepared by the hotel were appreciated by all the hikers. A very good value for money.

The hotel is substandard in many areas. The staff, both hotel and restaurant, are unfriendly, even rather rude. The breakfast, which is only open until 9am on weekdays, is not properly replenished. For example, scrambled eggs at 8am (!) is out of the question! Too late... We were told that it was not possible to reserve a meal that evening. When passing the restaurant between 7:00 PM and 8:15 PM, it turned out that the place was anything but full (nobody!!) ... Is there no desire to work? Who knows... When making up the room, the used towels are not replaced by clean ones. You will be presented with the used version again. To make matters worse, you also encounter an 'animal'... No, thank you... never here again!

Very warm welcome and very friendly staff. The room is well kept, quiet and pleasant with a view of the Champagne mountains. A downside for the restaurant on Saturday evening, the lasagna and frozen pork ribs for €14, it's a shame… for the room the value for money is good.

Because the journey home was a little too long, we made a reservation at this motel. Following reviews on this site, it wasn't too bad for one night. So NO! We arrived and there were dozens of 'refugees' walking around the parking lot in their underwear. They turned out to be grape pickers waiting for their clothes. Not a nice feeling. Then the reception wanted to give us a room on the 1st floor, even though I have a disability and have difficulty climbing stairs. Okay, then just a 'small' room downstairs. It already smelled very musty when we opened the door. And it was warm. After a few minutes I was able to get the air conditioning going, but it only provided moderate cooling. Moreover, it was a quite noisy room mainly above us. There was also noise in the parking lot at night. The bathroom is decent, but you only get 1 manual per person and no washcloth. It also said that you could eat in the evening in the associated restaurant. WRONG ! It is closed on Sundays. In short...unless your car breaks down in front of your door...drive by!!! There are much better places to stay in the area... E.g. Take an Ibis Styles hotel. Much better !
