Sienna Beach Hotel Entebbe

Avoid!! Hotel in great location and should have been nice BUT.... I don't normally write reviews but this place was a nightmare from the start. On my arrival at 10.30pm from the airport, reception showed me to a tiny dark room with no view rather than the double dulux with lake view I'd booked. They told me ******* had not paid them enough, my booked room wasn't available and this is all I could have - what a scam! The place was empty and the excuse was an obvious lie. Refused to accept the room and, after 40mins, I finally got a reasonable room. Still not what I'd booked but acceptable at 11.15pm. No safe in the room. One socket in the whole room for recharging phones, laptop, etc. Was also well hidden behind the headboard for the bed. Could hardly reach it and thankfully I always carry 3m extension cable when traveling for work otherwise I couldn't charged anything. Eating at the hotel to be avoided. Breakfast buffet ok but took 2 hours to get a basic plate of food for dinner which wasn't that nice in the end. Serving staff all just sat about playing on their mobile phones instead of working. Far quicker, cheaper and nicer to eat at one of the lovely shoreline restaurants just along the road. Should have been a pleasant stay for 2 nights whilst working in the area. Loved the location but will never stay at this hotel again!

Our group of 12 (mostly a visiting medical team) arrived at the hotel to spend a night before traveling to a rural health clinic four hours away the next day. We truly enjoyed having very cold beers outside on the banks of Lake Victoria. The rooms were very nice, and the bathrooms were especially appreciated! We had a family-style meal for dinner and a full breakfast buffet. Truly a great experience!

We arrived late (9PM) and while the person who checked us in was pleasant the person that helped us to our room and arranged for the room service was hostile and unpleasant. We ordered a margarita pizza which took over 2 hours to arrive and had mystery meat and vegetables all over it and looked like it was made with Velveeta cheese. The floors were tiled so the hotel was extremely noisy - you could hear everything and there was a window over the door that ensured the hallway light never allowed our room to be dark. There was loud music (and a party?) at the bar directly outside our room that went on until 11PM at night. There were lake flies (which we learned later are common) on the beds but this was cleaner than other hotels in the area. We had to ask for toilet paper and towels but there were two showers in the bathroom and the toilet was on a pedestal. The provided breakfast was inedible and small. Skip this place for one of the nicer ones (with not as nice a location) near by.
