We stayed at this ryokan on the first night of a 7 day self guided walking tour of the Nakasendo Trail. This was one of our favorite accommodations in Japan. The owner (15th generation) and her daughter were so gracious in welcoming us. The room was beautiful and looked out on a garden. The dinner was amazing. And it is a short walk to the Hiroshige museum which is great! Wonderful start to our hike!

Amazing experience. Beautiful inn, spectacular food and the most wonderful family owners. The care the current generation innkeeper took was beyond terrific. Thoughtful and accommodating of many dietary restrictions and willing to go above and beyond to assist. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I chose it as the final lodging of my trip.In the tatami-matted room next to the hotel, I felt a sense of calmness and healing that I usually don't experience in my bed life.It's possible to stay without meals, but breakfast is served in a box, so you should eat it.
