While I cannot complain about the price, some issues are entirely inexcusable no matter what the budget. I stayed one night with my two teenaged sons in what is advertised on the hotel's own website as a 'two-bedroom suite'. What we received was two very traditional and basic interconnecting hotel rooms - separate entry doors/keys/room numbers with an interconnecting internal door. One room had a double bed, the other a double plus a single and each had a bathroom. There was NO common area, no couch or sitting area and no table with chairs in either room - hence this is not a 'suite'. Two interconnecting rooms do NOT constitute a 'two-bedroom suite' and these rooms individually are NOT 'suites' by anyone's definitions (except for this hotel, apparently). This is false advertising let alone having been extremely disappointing to discover upon arrival. I did confirm with the Manager upon our checkout that our rooms were, in fact, what is advertised as a 'two-bedroom suite' - he said "Yep - You were in it". Unfortunately, he was wholly unconcerned and unapologetic when I explained the above. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the rooms was appalling. One bathroom was literally covered in hundreds if not thousands of insects (truly, a horror show - I have photos to prove it). The windows were fully closed and this was an infestation which clearly had not 'just' occurred. The insects covered the sink, walls, towels hanging on the rails and windows on the inside. They even created a fully black layer floating in the toilet. Because we arrived late we could not complain that night and literally closed the door and only used the bathroom in the other room. Otherwise, there were cobwebs/spiderwebs in every corner and along the ceilings, behind rubbish bins, etc. A further issue was the advertised complimentary continental breakfast. We were told it began at 8am. I was there promptly at 8am as I had a work meeting at 8:30am. The rooms were locked with no sign of any activity. After waiting a few minutes, I found a contractor who was apparently doing roof repairs and he indicated he would ring the Manager as he was also waiting for his breakfast. A few minutes later, still nothing. I walked out to reception which was meant to be open but no one was present. Another minute and finally the Manager showed up. When I asked about the late breakfast he showed me his phone to indicate it had only been "a few minutes" (almost 8:10am by then). No apologies offered, even when I let him know I had an 8:30am meeting. He walked us back to the breakfast area and opened the doors. I asked if someone was preparing something and he just showed us a counter with individually wrapped cereal packets and some loaves of bread, and then told us milk was in the fridge. We were clearly first and the counter tops were absolutely filthy - crumbs everywhere and ants (this is Queensland) - so that was obviously all from the day before and no one had cleaned at all. All told, these are ent
