"Staff were wonderful and beach lovely plus food was delicious. Rooms were clean. I did not like that the beds were single beds jointed to double but it was not bad. Toilet and shower rooms were separate which is good for 2 people . It will be nice if a sink is put in the shower room so you do not have to go to the toilet to clean your teeth."

"This is a lovely and relaxing resort in Ghana. Is located in a private area requiring a taxi or your own car. it is quite close to the Elmina Castle which requires a visit. We had a private walking tour of the village with Felix, who did a great job of giving us insights to the local culture. Staff of the resort was very friendly and willing to please. The coconut palms throughout the resort are extraordinary. And they provide coconuts for your drinking enjoyment. The rooms are comfortable and the air conditioning refreshing. Overall, very relaxing experience and a great place to stay if one is interested in visiting the Elmina Castle."

"Unbeatable location looking over the castle and fishing harbour which is truly atmospheric. That more of less excuses everything else! Rooms are basic with not all plug sockets and lights working and coffee maker was missing. The restaurant was good and excellent value in the evening. Breakfast was less so and very basic. When we arrived there was nobody with working English to check us in. We had problems with access to the beach resort venue (which has a terrific pool by the beach and is free) as the hotel policy had changed from a free shuttle to a charged taxi. This caused confusion. Everything worked out right when the English speaking manager returned including sorting out our onward travel at a sensible price rather than the almost double quoted initially. We may have been a little unlucky. I stayed here in 2013 with no problems."

"After my travel companion and I had left Accra behind, we were looking forward to our stay at the Royal Elmount Hotel. The photos looked good, and the lady who had secured our booking was also willing to send a copy of her passport as proof that the booking had actually taken place. The embassy in The Hague requires people to provide this detailed information when obtaining a visa, including a written personal confirmation from the person who made the booking. How do you become an attractive country for tourists??? In terms of structural facilities, the hotel meets expectations, but I find the service very poor. You can stand in the dining room with three people, but it takes well over two hours before dinner arrives. Four American guests waited even longer for their meal. Breakfast didn't go very smoothly either. The location requires the eye of a professional to get the logistics right; the dining area and the way you get there don't exactly help either. If you were in a wheelchair, this would be an insurmountable barrier. There needs to be a lot of improvement in terms of management next year if this place is to receive a good rating. The opportunity is there; now we just need the way! The staff is not bad, but the professional management deserves strengthening, to put it mildly. For the location and the buildings are beautiful to behold."
