Colonial Inn Ellsworth

Staying off Bay Harbor to avoid the expensive hotels; this is a fair＞good option. Front desk was good (check in/out). Continental breakfast provided plenty of options and coffee was always hot and made. Facilities need some tending too; appears they are working on it. Lobby/hallway to second floor had horrible odor like BO. Beds and bedding were clean and updated. However rooms need lots of TLC to update. Housing staff were great and seemed to work efficiently. If they get the place updated; it will bring in lots more visitors.

We stayed at the room in Annex and our group stayed at two rooms.-very clean and new! The room is clean and spacious and the bed is comfortable! The bathroom is small but very clean! We slept very well! The breakfast was grab and go- good for hikers! They have laundry and indoor pool. We didn’t use the pool but it looked big and clean. We didn’t use a lot service, but the staff at front desk was nice when we were asking questions. The only thing is that one of the room has a odor of new renovated room- Luckily we bought a sachet and didn’t stay at room a lot so it was acceptable. The other room was odor free though! Depending on which room you staying I think. There is a Walmart nearby and the Tesla supercharge, however, the route is a one way route in front of the hotel and about 40 minutes driving to the Acadia National park so not very convenient but we are very grateful for the last minute booking d/t plumbing issue at the other place we stayed! Overall good staying experience and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay at a clean and nice Inn- the room we stayed definitely way better than a motel room!!

Clean, comfortable room. Friendly, courteous staff. Location was great for our trip to Acadia National Park. We were looking for a relatively inexpensive place nar the Park, and found it here. Would stay here again if we were to visit again.

Better pillows would be good. Very kind, helpful workers. Nice breakfast we could grab and go on our hike with. We would stay here again. Clean and fit the 5 of us well with 3 queen beds. Thank you for the nice stay. Was. Bummer that there isn’t. Jacuzzi.

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Colonial Inn Ellsworth. The staff was friendly and helpful. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. The assorted breakfast offerings that were available at 7:15 each morning allowed for a hearty morning meal.

Pretty basic decor, but OH, Barry & the staff was amazing & the room, mini fridge & microwave were exceptionally clean! I used the laundry & ice machine. Parking for the Annex & the dog walk were so easy. I would definitely stay here again with my dog!

Very clean room with a comfortable bed and pillows. Excellent breakfast with a lot of thoughtful choices. Staff was very helpful in answering our questions about the area. Well lit parking lot. Overall a very comfortable stay, highly recommended...

It was an average room. Faucets on bathroom sink were installed funky and the door to the room would not close without slamming. Sink drain made strange noise for about 15 minutes after turning water off. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone in the future.

We had a very bad experience. This was the most expensive motel on our 2 week trip and the worst stay. The shower in our accessible room leaked and spewed out water everywhere. it was impossible to take a shower. The sink stopped up and drained very slowly. I complained to the front desk and they said they would work on it. The queen bed sagged in the middle. I complained again the next morning and they said they would get it fixed. The 2nd night it was not fixed and they finally moved us to a another room after I complained again. When I checked in, the manager said coffee was available all the time. However, coffee is only available 7 am to 11 pm and there was no coffee maker in the rooms. Breakfast was grab and go with no hot options.
