"The place is a long ride up the mountain on a narrow winding road… (and unfortunately the local PickMe App has no use in Ella!) The food service was good but a bit pricey for the area of Sri Lanka. The “Single Room“ was as rather small and had an all glass “front door” and there was no fan or air conditioning… so with the open ventilation ducts most conversations from anywhere in the building could be heard inside of the room… Overall it was pleasant but not as nice as I had imagined from the listing…"

"Service was top notch but it’s located on a hill. Even though the entrance to the hotel is on the main Ella street, it takes a lot of effort to walk up the steep slopes up to the hotel. The decoration is also very dated. Views are great but it’s just a very old hotel that I don’t feel comfortable in"

"Stay away from this hotel! The hotel rooms isn’t what’s pictured on booking sites, the entrance is through a forest on a mountain and through other buildings. The walls is stained, door is leaking, and the room are nasty. The entrance pathway crumbled under me so a nail went through my foot and got several scratches. It is NOT a hotel, not even a bungalow. I would rather sleep with the homeless dogs than stay there one night. We checked out 30 minutes after we checked in. At least the manager was nice enough to give a full refund and drive us to another hotel."

"The hotel is 200 meters from the railway, which you can walk along to a waterfall and a nine-arch bridge, enjoying stunning mountain views. The balcony overlooks the jungle, and you can watch monkeys hopping through the trees. My room was dirty, renovated in the 19th century. The hotel owner is friendly and welcoming. But he's building another house, so there's construction right outside, noise, and drilling from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m."
