Needs some TLC: better/actual cleaning. Bath faucet chrome has hard-water build-up. Bar Keepers Friend needed. Bed base hasn’t been cleaned in months. Neither has the window. In the hallways, accumulated dust in the corners and transitions, carpet to walls.

We were in the area for a friend's wedding and recommended to stay here-- so glad! Room was clean, beds were comfortable (especially the pillows). We liked the area down by the water, just to sit outside and relax. Breakfast was good with several selections (I enjoyed the grits!). The staff was very friendly. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Staying at The Lodge on Lake Oconee was terrible. The room were not as expected smelled like damp dirty rug. I spotted a red smug on the comforter, then as I inspected further discovered other nasty unsettling blood stains, urine stains and other stains on the mattress, pillows as well as on the comforter. Their breakfast was a joke not appealing the hot items were cold and not tasty as well as the coffee. I’d never recommend The Lodge.

The only star was the lovely front desk manager, otherwise this hotel would deserve a zero rating. Absolutely the most tired, dirty, musty dump of a hotel. Believe the bad reviews. This hotel is atrocious. The windows don’t open and every space stinks of mold and mildew. They need to burn it down and start over… just awful.

After reading other reviews, we were not sure about staying here. We took a chance and stayed. The employees we encountered were very friendly. The breakfast was good. We had a King Lake view room. It is summer so there are leaves on the trees and our view was mostly blocked by the trees. Several people had complained about a mildew/mold type odor. There was definitely a smell but it was not mildew/mold. Probably something they use in cleaning. I had taken spray so we were good. The room was clean and the AC worked well. The walk way down to the lake was nice.

The place is a dive and should be half the price. 1. Bath tub gross 2. The free breakfast you could not giveaway. The coffee is brown water. 3. The hotel is “No smoking facilities” and you should be given a pack of cigarettes at check-in to tolerate the dump. There is a fire pit at the water and your can start a fire but not smoke anything? 4. Sauna in gym broke, hot tube broke, tv gym broke, tv in breakfast area broke, over all hotel facilities and accommodation broke. 5. Gym a closet, and terrible. Guess a 2 star hotel is this, but very disappointing and only put this post to warn others. Location is why I picked this hotel, which is great but would have drove further after seeing this place in person. If I brought a significant other we would of left.

Awesome and beautiful family vacation resort. So much to do for the kids and adults. We encountered a few negatives with air conditioning in room at night( they shut it down and you have to ask them to bypass it). Didn’t find this out until last night….club lounge staff was difficult to deal with when asking for appropriate food for small children. There was nothing except PBJ crustables for kids. Club manager Teresa was wonderful upon our arrival but she went on vacation the next day and club staff was not friendly except for Ashlee who happened to be the sweetest person there. Pool staff not up to par and we had to look for them. No staff on beach at lake. Overall the rest was great….the extra money we spent (and it was $$$$) for club lounge should have produced better results for us and others who were also complaining. Would I go back? The answer is yes!

My room was prepaid through *******, but the hotel improperly charged my card $115. I called them, and they admitted their error, but they couldn’t issue a refund because the manager wasn’t there. They want me to track down the manager in order to get a refund. Awful customer service. The property is in a great location, but it is not nice by any standard. It’s 2* property combined with the terrible customer service, and I would advise you to look elsewhere.
