Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Culpeper

Granddaughter got tired early and wanted to go to bed. This was an unexpected stop. We were so surprised at how clean, easy and roomy the room was. Beds were very comfortable with crisp clean sheets. As best I can say, it's better than home. Breakfast was very nice as well. This was a great surprise and they treated all others very well as well.

The stay was really nice. The room was spacious and very clean. I didn’t have the chance to grab breakfast, so it being available was really a nice add on. I will be staying here much more in the future.

Think twice before booking a room. Over priced, reception desk staff was not pleasant. Electrical outlets only on one side of each of the two queen-sized beds—no bedside lights. The room was hot during the night even though the thermostat was turned to 64. The room did start to cool down around 5:00 am. The mattress was kind of lumpy. My first and last experience staying at a Microtel.

My first experience with this chain of hotels. I was very pleased with my visit. Friendly staff, clean room & great breakfast. I am so particular about the cleanliness of the room. I was not disappointed. Close to Hwy 29 for our drive home. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Our experience at Microtel in Culpepper was very mixed. The room was comfortable. The staff were nice. There was ample parking. The free coffee was good. I was very surprised that the front entrance did not have an automatic door to open and I didn’t see any button to push to have the door open. I’m not sure how this is ADA compliant. It also made it challenging to get our luggage in/out of the building. We had a room on the 3rd floor, we had a lot of opportunities to use the elevator. The button for the 1st floor got a lot of use and didn’t consistently work. Now for the bigger problem. The toilet ran and ran. Jiggling the handle didn’t work. We had to take the top off and manually fix the problem. We told the morning staff about this. When we returned to the room later that day we found it wasn’t fixed. We flushed and it kept running. We told the person working the desk. She learned that the maintenance person fixed it, and the manager told her it just took a long time for the toilet to fill. I simply cannot believe that they consider a still running toilet “fixed” and how is “it takes a long time to fill” an acceptable answer???? The person working the front desk offered to put us in another room. We went to that room and found it reeked of cigarette smoke. We opted for a running toilet over a smelly room. Next time we stay in Culpepper we will choose a different hotel.

We had a pleasant experience and a peaceful evening after the horse show. We found the accommodations to be very comfortable and clean.

Overnight trip for family event. Check in was great (communication prior to check in was also great). Hotel parking lot was packed, due to local horse show the same weekend, but the hotel was never crowded or loud. Staff were very helpful relative to parking, and the free breakfast was as one would expect at this level of hotel, but the food was fresh and well presented. Only complaint is that the vanity top in the bathroom encroaches on the toilet, which was less than ideal. Nothing that the current staff can do about that though.

Very nice stay. I thought my stay was very nice. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and professional. Hotel location was perfect for my weekend visits to the Old Rag Mountain and White Oak Canyon trails. Both were 35 minutes away. Restaurants and the movie theater we're within 5 to 10 minutes away.
