Best Western Dundee Invercarse Hotel

Great location and view to relax but nothing much to do there

The hotel is located in a quiet area with lovely views across the river from the dining room. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room was spacious with a good bathroom. We thought it might have been noisy as there were two weddings going on but we were not disturbed at all. Being able to charge our electric car for free (using tokens from Reception) was a welcome bonus.

Was here for a funeral service and tea afterwards. Lovely hotel and ballroom with beautiful views over the Tay. Sandwiches, sausage rolls and cakes were served and were really nice. Bar in the ballroom was open with a decent selection of drinks, although the bar staff were quite unhelpful and seemed annoyed to be there. Is it too much to ask for a glass with my bottled beer!?

Ive been a returning customer at Invercarse hotel since the 1970’s . A recent visit for lunch was indeed an eye opener and sadly my opinion is that the hotel is now sadly in decline. The lunch menu was strangely lacking in choice, eg : no steak pie , no chicken main course etc and so I had the “ Haddock “ and chips. The “ Haddock “ was almost tasteless and the fish meat was a bit dark in colour which made me wonder if it was in fact Haddock or perhaps substituted with something like Pollack instead. It was probably frozen as it did not taste remotely fresh. I know the difference having been an angler since the 60’s. The restaurant staff were a bit on the rough side for a hotel of this nature but I suspect they are only paid minimum wage and you get what you pay for. I left feeling unappetised and my partner felt unwell not long after the meal and so we will never return . I’m informed that the hotel changed hands a couple of years ago but the change hasn’t been for the better, unfortunately

Stayed at invercarse for 16 days had an excellent time as per usual the staff are so nice and efficient nothing is to much trouble them the food is good and the buffet breakfast is well maintained and is always refilled the bar prices are very good for a hotel as you can pay more for pint of lager on you local pub nowadays Sean and Paul have made a good job of this hoteland there staff are second to none well done to all involved your the best

Arrived at 21.00 after a 12hr shift only to be told last order's at the restaurant was at 20.00 . There was absolutely no alternative offered such as a sandwich or anything else ,all I wanted was a bite to eat and a shower,. My employer was told there was 24 hrs room service what was not the case .so all in all not expressed at all.

Decided before staying at the hotel, would go there for lunch and have a look around and decide if it would meet my partner's disability needs (reduced mobility). Feedback:- 1) Had the butter bean, etc curry. It was absolutely delicious. The spice level was just perfect. Thank you!!! 2) The lounge/ bar area is tastefully decorated with comfortable chairs. The music was relaxing classicial music. 3) The dining room(s) have nice decor. The views are beautiful. 4) The garden is beautiful and has garden furntiture. 5) All the staff seemed friendly and helpful. Jennifer and Libby were sooooo patient with me - thank you so much. They were kind enough to let me see vacant rooms to decide what room size would suit our needs. Have booked and look forward to our stay.

I stayed overnight at this hotel as I had an appointment at a nearby hospital. We were greeted by a lovely woman at reception who arranged dinner and chatted away to us like we were old friends. It made us feel very welcome. The TV in our room wasn’t working but a quick call to reception and a staff member arrived within a few minutes, gave it a reboot and we were back in business. Dinner service was busy as a couple of coach loads were in; they were seated in a separate area though and so our dinner experience felt relaxed. The food was superbly presented and a very good quality. Pricing was very affordable. All the staff we experienced were friendly and engaging. I would recommend and I’d definitely go again.
