We originally planned to stay at another hotel but it was full so we decided to try Henia. Overall it’s been a good experience and I think this is probably the best option in Dumaguete, which for some reason has a very limited selection of hotels. The good: - The rooms are reasonably sized. They only had twin rooms when we booked. While they are basic, they are up to date, clean and reasonably roomy - The bathroom is decent quality, with expected amenities such as shampoo, toothbrush kits, etc. The shower is spacious. - The wall air conditioner works well - They bring the included breakfast to your room. You choose from a number of Filipino options each day. There is no western breakfast option. - Everyone I have dealt with has been friendly and helpful - The elevator, which is a rarity in Dumaguete hotels, is decent sized and very smooth The not so good: - There is a lot of traffic noise - The water pressure is not great - The internet is not strong. It’s virtually impossible to even upload things - The key card is very touchy, so it takes a long time to get the door open Overall, given the other options, I would recommend this hotel

Good, clean room with nice room service serving good food, nice swimming pool. Nice view from the balcony of the mountains. TV was a good size with excellent channel selection. Wasn't too expensive, but I believe rates have now gone way up.

This hotel is located near the Dumaguete airport and is decorated with many artworks. Unlike hotels in the city, it's generally quiet, but there are live performances in the hotel restaurant, so you can hear music until quite late, so it might be suitable for families with children of elementary school age or older. The customer service is friendly and the restaurant has high chairs, so if you understand that, you won't have any problems bringing young children with you. Also, you can flush toilet paper down the toilet, which is rare in the Philippines.
Although we weren't in the city, leaving food in your room attracts a lot of ants, so we recommend hanging your luggage on hangers or floating in the air instead of leaving it on a table.

Hotel environment is very good, breakfast is relatively simple, there is a spa center to make an appointment, lunch and dinner are eaten at the hotel, the price is not expensive, tastes good. From the hotel to the apo island, the tutu car gave 200 pesos. The driver should be very satisfied. He also asked to leave the phone to pick up the boat. He went to the apo island to charter 3000 pesos. After boarding the ship, he also collected the life jacket, the island fee, the snorkeling fee, etc. 300 pesos.

One word to describe Bluewater Sumilon Island would be PARADISE! We were greeted by a mild-mannered receptionist (if i remember it right, Kevin) before we hopped on the boat. Sit on the first row, if you wish to enjoy the water splashes. We didn't mind as we were still wearing our swimmers from our whaleshark experience. We got there about 1pm, the room was ready about 3pm, but no trouble, because we enjoyed alone time in the infinity pool, took a nap on the daybeds, enjoyed a ”must order” halo halo on a buko, and fruit smoothies! What makes this place awesome is the staff, from the pool guy who picks up every leaf falling on the water, to the porters who helped our bags, to the friendly people at the reception and the dining area, even the nice ladies at the Amuma lounge. William's smile and attentive service is really heart warming. I'm not surprised why he's popular! Security is spot on! My husband flew a drone in front of our room and was told off 10 seconds later, which we are ok to abide. When snorkelling, I highly recommend getting a guide to the marine sanctuary. It's so worth it! It's good that the guides protect the sanctuary. There are only areas where you can snorkel, but plenty of fish, corals and clown fish. We stayed in premier deluxe room, which was very spacious, closest to the sandbar and best spot to watch the sunrise. Buffet dinner and breakfast are really good with plenty of options. Highly recommend, but would stay for more than 1 night next time.

The Island Front Resort is highly recommended
if you are planning on staying in the Oslob area and/or are planning on seeing the whale sharks there. The Island Front Resort rooms are pretty basic, but very clean and located right on the water. It was definitely a very nice treat to eat dinner and breakfast facing the clear blue ocean and Sumilon Island, which is another tourist attraction. The staff are very friendly and helpful. As a matter of fact, if you plan on going to see the whale sharks, the staff will arrange transportation for you (at a very fair price) and even fast track you on the boat line with a complimentary guide, which will save you time and eliminate some confusion when you get there. The food (both the dinner and complimentary breakfast) was very good and priced very reasonably. I was hoping for just a clean basic room to sleep in (which I did get), but the good and fairly priced food and being fast tracked on the whale shark line were definitely nice surprise bonuses!! 😊

I love this place. The rooms are very clean and cozy. We were very comfortable here during our stay because the atmosphere here is so relaxing. The color combinations of the rooms are just adorable. And the price is just right. The hand-painted murals are simply beautiful. It gives an ambiance of blissful serenity to the place. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. Try their Chinese dimsum. You will definitely love it. I’m coming back here for sure.

GGuest UserFor a 5 star hotel, it doesn’t seem like it is and definitely not worth the price. -Poor amenities (Example, they offer a small thin bar of soap as a body wash. Why wouldn’t they offer liquid body wash? Also, some towels were overused) -They clean the rooms/bathrooms and change your towels after 3 days instead of everyday. There’s no pandemic anymore so why not clean the rooms everyday?! -Good food, but not enough choices for breakfast (Why wouldn’t pancakes be included in the options? Also, the coffee doesn’t taste good - strong and burnt tasting) -Nice staff, but they need more training: >Food Service is slow and inefficient. During breakfast and lunch, our food were served after hours of waiting. Some of our orders came incorrectly (not what we ordered). >Disorganize and lack in system. >They lack in staff both at the front desk and Sans rival Cafe. -They will charge you if you don’t return all your keycards. If this was a true 5 star hotel, you wouldn’t charge your guests for something cheap and disposable. Overall, our stay was ok (big rooms and nice pool), but lacking in amenities and training of staff. There are more cons than pros. Whoever owns this hotel seems like they are saving too much on costs. Never going to stay in any of the Henry Hotels in the Philippines.
GGuest UserNot too sure what to expect, even though the reviews were all positive. As others ha e mentioned, common areas and rooms are all furnished in quality mainly antique furniture, collected by the owner on his travels. The rooms have very comfortable beds, hot water for the shower and polite and attentive staff. We booked 3 rooms for our family and all were of a good quality, far better than others we have stayed in that cost far more. When we are in the area again we will definitely stay again.
666772625Being new, the rooms are small, but neat and clean. They are very colourful, as you can see from the photos. There's a rooftop pool, possibly the smallest hotel pool ever, yet quite deep. Good for cooling off and for its views of the city. If there are sufficient guests, breakfast may be a buffet on the top floor, which is quite good. Otherwise, you only get to order a meal and one drink from the cafe next to reception. As is often the case in the Philippines, the choice is extremely limited in that case. It's hard to rate the hotel's value, when these are two vastly different situations. You can have 4 or 5 or more glasses of juice at the breakfast buffet, or only 1 if that's not operating. I'll be generous and rate it very good, but that assumes they supply the decent breakfast. If you get stuck with the cafe breakfast, I'd downgrade it to average.
毛毛毛虫MandyThis time I booked a two-bedroom apartment with two bathrooms, which is very convenient and you can cook by yourself, but I didn’t experience it in a hurry this time. The restaurant downstairs is not as good as everyone said, but it is above the overall level of the Philippines. The swimming pool is beautiful and there are slides to play. After checking out, I had to go to the pier to take the boat to Tin Island. Because we had 5 people and luggage, we asked the front desk to call a cart for us. As a result, we arranged a brand new van to take us there for free. The building is very distinctive, the layout is very cute, I feel that a small town in Europe, next time I must take my daughter to stay a few more days.
GGuest UserThe cleanest hotel I have ever been here in Dumaguete. The best place to stay. All staff are very accomodating everybody gives quality service they kept on smiling, friendly and easy to deal with. They have Also restaurant in house. The food is superb 👌 Must try their menu of the day / Bestseller menu ☺️ They make you feel comfortable in All ways. Nothing compares ❤️
BB4261WDmarkbWe (1 x Australian male & 1 x Filipina) stayed for one week in a Family Apartment. We chose Villa Prescilla as we wanted to be able to self-cater and cook our own meals. The hotel is a short drive from both the airport (via taxi) and the centre of Dumaguete (trike). Getting transport via a trike is easy, plus the trikes here are much bigger than in Manila or Angeles and the prices were reasonable: but it does help if you have a Filipina with you to ensure you are not being taken advantage of (but I still gave tips to drivers). Location is away from the hustle & bustle of Dumaguete, but the road is still very busy and noise from traffic can be a bit of a problem, but main bedroom is at the rear of the building and we kept the doors shut. To avoid being awakened too early by neighbouring roosters or barking dogs, I recommend having the fan on for white noise. The hotel is a bit old and showing its age, but it is still clean, pleasant and had everything we needed, plus the caretaker/s were very helpful and friendly. My only gripe would be in relation to the Wi-Fi signal which at times was non-existent (welcome to the Philippines...lol). In the times we live, Wi-Fi has become a necessity and I was relying on being able to use my laptop, so it was of great importance to me to be able to access the internet when I wanted / needed. Fortunately, each time I really needed to access the internet the caretakers would come to the apartment and were able to get a signal for me through trial and error, plus a lot of persistence and sometimes calling upon the available IT guru (caretakers’ teenage son). My Filipina was very happy with the kitchen facilities and was able to whip up some great meals. Caretakers were also able to arrange a private car with driver for us (day trip to Bindoy) and a taxi for the journey to the airport for our departure.
GGuest UserThe place is perfect for those traveling with a tight budget. As for me, we were wanting to explore the city and the neighboring nature destinations - so it didn't make sense to check in an expensive hotel as we didn't plan to lounge in the hotel. The room rates are budget friendly - the beds and the AC was okay. Room had a tv with cable, but wifi was not working most of the time, but its okay because Mobile data was strong enough as the hostel is within the city. The only issue I have was with the bathroom. It was nice, had a sink, a hot/cold shower and a large toilet. However, the bathroom had a divider on the floor separating the shower and toilet - but the toilet part of the room had no floor drain. So tendency is, if you spill or splash water to the toilet part of the bathroom, it will stay on the floor and would flood the other half. But all in all, the stay was great.
Dommage ...
BbarbiedogonI stayed here last week together with my husband. Our room is nice, very spacious, air-conditioned room and hot shower. Unfortunately, I have to ask the receptionist for our bath towels and I hope next time it was already at the room by the time we check in. The remote control of the tv also does not function well. I also saw some webs on the ceilings of the comfort room. I suggest to clean properly the CR and repair minor amenities of the room. But still, I love to stay over and over again in this hotel since it's very accessible in the downtown area. Thank you. I hope my review helps the management to do the best service they can to customers. Thank you.
