Sunny Dubrovnik by Valamar

It is a large hotel not far from the old town. Parking is free at the hotel. If you are with a family of four, you are better off ordering an Uber or similar taxi for €8 than waiting for the bus in the heat. A bus ride to the city costs €2 p.p. Parking in the city is screaming expensive. The hotel breakfast continues to brunch until 13:00. That is nice for those who sleep in. The food is generally okay. Don't expect culinary surprises, just good enough to eat in the hotel. The pool is large, but for the beach you have to walk out of the hotel grounds.

We were greeted by Ana and Nikola who were very jolly, informative and helpful pointing out places to eat ,visit, the local shop and the better beach to visit. There were lots of steps yes but that is to be expected if you want the stunning views that we had. If you walk around the road way it doesn't take a lot longer and is much easier. Our apartment was fantastic very clean, comfy beds and toiletries were also supplied. The kitchen was fully equipped and there was coffee, tea and sugar as well as a couple of beers , juice and water left for us in the fridge. Ana asked on several occasions if there was anything she could possibly help with just to ask. We had a fantastic stay and recommend highly.

Eddie's Sea View Rooms Old Town

We were greeted by the owner Eddie and wow what a character! Very charismatic and charming, a great welcome to Dubrovnik. It’s an excellent location, a stone’s throw from old town but outside of the chaos of tourists. Our room was small but so cute and rustic. My only complaint was that the main blanket/comforter on the bed was not an actual comforter and more like a large blanket not typical for hotels with an odd texture that made me question if it had been washed. No smell or anything but just kind of odd. The top sheet was only half of the size of the bed as well. Other than that it was excellent!!
Apartments Mia

So I picked this place randomly when I decided to visit Dubrovnik recently. I not only enjoyed these apartments, but actually had the opportunity to view three different ones. The first was rather small - but very cool due t rocks from the hillside making up one of the walls. Unfortunately, the temperature was not cool because the A!C in that unit was broken. I was moved to a two bedroom (which I didn’t even realize because I didn’t open an extra door). It had a living room and small kitchenette. I had to move for the last night - and it was to a larger one bedroom which also had a kitchenette and spiral stairs leading up to the bedroom. In addition to totally meeting my travel needs, the place was spotless. Moreover, the owners, Dino and his daughter Mia were most pleasant to deal with. Best of all was the location. Literally steps to the Old Town Gate and a few pebbly beaches - one of which has X-Adventures Kayaking - which I also highly recommend. So yes - stay here if you are one or a small group or family! I would not recommend for mobility impaired as there are a lot of steps both getting to and at the apartment. One more bit of advice - call Dino upon your arrival by the bus station/gate. It can be difficult to find on your first try due to the small, winding streets.
