Pretty decent. Starting to show its age, but well enough maintained. Decent bar downstairs. Not too expensive (relatively. It's Dubai after all).

XXiaoshuyizhi2024.04.21
The hotel is relatively new, but it has inherited the simple style as always. The lobby is quite colorful. The crystal chandelier is a bit cheap compared to the grade of this hotel, but the design is full. The glass design of the breakfast position is very low-key and restrained. You can also sit in the garden outside for breakfast, which is very pleasant.
The service staff at the front desk and the next day were very good, and the beautiful lady who greeted the guests was also very good. I just don’t know if it was a system problem or something else. When eating breakfast, she insisted on saying in front of so many people that I only booked one person and the other one had to pay. I repeatedly emphasized that I booked breakfast for two people, and you can confirm it at the front desk. The restaurant just ignored it. It’s really too slow to think. It’s not aimed at guests, but change to some smart ones. It’s the same when eating. Give napkins to other tables, and we wipe them with our hands. . . I don’t know what I’m thinking.
Of course, although breakfast is not a buffet, the dishes are still amazing. The juice is a bit average.
I gave zero points for hygiene. The floor was not cleaned, and there was dirt in the quilt. I feel a little uncomfortable when I think about it.
In general, the room design is in line with the usual style of the Edition, the bathroom is large enough, and the balcony is also very good, but there are too many things that are not perfect. I don't know if you will improve it. If there is any improvement, I think I will still recommend it. After all, it is still quite pleasant overall.

Great hotel experience. Food at La Farine was super good, especially the breakfast and their French Onion Soup. Definitely a must try.

The hotel's location is very convenient, being near the metro, making it easy to reach. The room was big and clean, which I appreciated. The bathroom was also very satisfying, equipped with a good-smelling shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. It was full of amenities, which made the stay even more comfortable.. Specially Thanks Mr.Eizard in front office.
We will back SOON....!!

Outstanding
SSheila the FavI've been in the hotel now for over 24days and mostly enjoyed my stay as the the hotel is clean, the bed is good, it smells fresh and the ambience is suitable for the price of UNDER Dh180 per night for this location. It's a really good short stay hotel but Safety is an issue and largely due to their neighbourhood.
I think that most of their hotel staff is good but watch out for sexism. They also need more training to respect consumer rights.
Also they have an issue with 'holding structure' wrt their insurance. It's now 2nd Oct 2022, so if you read this a few years later, this cld be a totally different hotel.
- Barsha Heights is an urban neighbourhood in transition. Not suitable for those a bit conservative as I am.
I seriously question the safety- marketing match for this property and would not deem it suitable for families with small kids.
1) the bathrooms aren't kid-friendly and easily over-splash. I changed to a room with a bath tub but the tub sides are too high and it's a safety hazard.
- aesthetics is good but Design is not their strong feature.
-The housekeeping staff does a really good job to wipe down the floors. These guys are good. Their senior management is also pretty good. Their overall staff in general is too inexperienced for Dubai standard.
2) the floor landings aren't well marked and some kid got off on the wrong floor and got scared and confused. I got him off on the right floor. I saw him later with his parents.
- most guests here are friendly and look out for one another. Another guest looked out for me too. It's a friendly and trustworthy space between most guests.
3) they don't put up signs that contractor work is happening. Can do better.
4) The front desk and F&B do seem to take the mickey out of solo female travellers, so be straight up on what you expect.
- Push back and know your legal rights. It's likely a cultural thing. Seen it here before decades ago too. It was wiped out then but clearly it's resurfaced. So do what you can or move to Abu Dubai or Sharjah.
5) excellent food deals! Heart of the hotel!
The food is quite good for the price. Not too oily, good selection. The breakfast per the entire week was dh200+ and comes with fresh omelletes, Asian, Indian and European as well as fresh fruit. They improved the coffee. Really good deal! Clean cafe since it's new.
The pub also has a good meal deals under Dh100 this Sept 2022. They change in October. Ask and know your consumer rights before ordering.
But like a few other Dubai restaurants, the plates and glasses smell of stale dish washer. They fixed it immediately so that's good. But no one else complained and that was surprising to me.
Potent cocktails. Good bar tender from Morocco and another from Philippines called Joseph.
6) don't stand outside to look for a cab. The Security came to get me a cab. It's safer.
Really good hotel for under Dh180 but the neighbourhood sets them back a bit. I've been here a while and thank the staff for a pleasant stay!
GGuest UserWe had a one bedroom suite with a kitchen with sea view. It was very well equipped, with dishwasher and washing machine. Very comfortable bed. Very clean on arrival and cleaned every day with fresh towels etc. The hotel has excellent facilities - large restaurant area, gym and swimming pool. Breakfast choice was superb. It is very well located - short walking distance to the Tram (Palm Jumeirah station) and the monorail to the Palm. Most notably are the hotel staff who were always welcoming, polite and helpful -especially Main at the hotel reception who was very helpful when we needed a doctor
IIpek EmilyMy husband and I had our first holiday as a family of three with our 7 month old baby at Voco Dubai The Palm Hotel. We chose this hotel as it had a private beach (we didn’t want to spend time travelling to a beach each day), was located away from the chaos of Dubai, offered a king size bed (I cosleep with my baby), and there was an option for including breakfast (again did not want to spend time searching for or travelling to a breakfast location with a baby). Compared to other surrounding hotels, it is a relatively small and new hotel. However, this only enhanced our positive experience as it added a more personal touch. The valets (sorry I didn’t catch their names!) took our car down to the car park while other members of staff took our luggage to our room. Diana at the front desk was the first team member we met inside and made us feel very welcome. Our room was very spacious and clean. Thank you to Arun Gawam from Housekeeping! We enjoyed our coffee pods and Biscoff biscuits provided after each thorough clean. Some reviews mentioned noise but we only heard some drilling upstairs during the day and some music outside on Friday and Saturday night. Neither of these bothered us or our baby. The breakfast buffet was amazing and had plenty of choice with some of the options changing on each day so we had some variety. The welcoming, dynamic staff knew our tea and coffee orders from day one and always greeted us with smiles. We were asked daily if we wanted our eggs cooked in a certain way. This was great because our baby is just getting started on solids. Our baby girl loved seeing all the hardworking, smiley members of staff waving at her every morning. I would particularly like to thank Rojean, Rashmi and Aldrin as well as Fasha, Shiela, Juliet, Dioseth, Anu, Marion, Fhaizan, Amin, Chef Prabin, Chef James, Chef Anyu, Ariz, Sun and Puja. The private beach was a highlight of our holiday. We loved the easy and quick access to the beach with bottles of water and beach towels provided upon arrival. The cabanas were great for privacy as I had to breastfeed my baby on the beach. The WiFi was hit and miss on the beach but I guess that helped us relax more. Thank you to Bidan, Chamodi and Roni for taking care of us there! The only downside for me was the lack of power socket to plug the hairdryer in the bathroom or next to the mirror in front of the bathroom or by the mirror in front of the desk. We had to plug the hairdryer in the socket by the bed and therefore had to dry our hair on the bed, which wasn’t a major issue, just an inconvenience and a little loud right next to our baby. Overall, it was a great holiday experience thanks to each and every member of staff!
GGuest UserThe Obelisk, Dubai Club upgrade is a must! The 360 degree views from floor 51 are unforgettable. I enjoyed many a cup of tea on Floor51 viewing amazing sunsets, the night sky and watching the coloured lights on the Burj Khalifa. During a very hot period due to a sudden change in the weather it was a treat to be able ‘pop’ to floor 51 and enjoy tea/coffee, afternoon tea and drinks in the evening whilst enjoying the stunning views. An excellent breakfast with a wide variety of items to meet all dietary needs. The room was lovely with stunning views. The swimming pool allowed a good swim and was particularly pretty in the evening. Fascinating watching the window cleaners! Not a job I would want. I am full of admiration. We did receive an upgrade as we waited 90 minutes to check in for club class. Staff need to be more relaxed. Just feel they are on edge. Your plate disappears nearly before you have finished eating. This in turn put me on edge. A more welcoming atmosphere needs to be adopted but still remaining standards. A special thank you goes to 'Satish' (do hope I have the correct name). He provided me with excellent service. i do say a very big 'thank you' to him. Satish you left me with some very interesting thoughts! To which I say thank you.
GGuest UserWe felt we had a really good location because the hotel is located right on Dubai's red metro line at Financial Centre Station which lined up really well with our itinerary. The hotel is located very close to the Burj Khalifa tower and the many sights of Downtown Dubai. We also had quite a few restaurant options and shops nearby so we didn't have to go far to get a good meal or pick up something.
The rooms are nicely appointed with a firm bed and large pillows. This is a suites Hotel so there is a pretty good kitchen in the rooms with a stove, microwave oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer machine and dishes to go along with everything. The shower had great pressure and it was easy to control the temperature but we were not a fan of the scent of the bath products provided. We had a pretty good sea view and could see the Burj Al Arab and World Islands off in the distance which we were happy with. We liked that they gave us extra bottle water each day but would have liked if they included maybe a few packets for detergent for the dishwasher and laundry machine because the lobby shop quantities were bigger than needed.
The amenities at this hotel are pretty good with a shop and restaurant on the main floor. There is a common room on the sixth floor and some meeting rooms that are bookable. The pool and fitness area is accessible on the sixth floor as well via a pedway and is very nice as well. The pool had plenty of lounge chairs and there were quite a few available when we visited. You can also sneak a peak at the downtown area between the buildings. The change rooms are a little small but there was lots of space when I visited and lockers available. I could not figure out how to lock the locker and would have appreciated it if I was provided the card for it or if they had instructions on the lockers of how to use them. The steam room and sauna were very small but I was the only one in them when I went in the late afternoon.
The breakfast is included and there were plenty of options to enjoy when I went. There were changing items each day and while we were there they rotated between fried eggs and scrambled eggs and they had bread pudding one day, french toast another and pancakes. There is a variety of hot items as well like sausage, beans, beef bacon, hash brown patties and one day they had shakshouka. For cold items they had a salad bar, cheese, yogurt and fruits. They had a variety of pastries each day. The drinks were good as well with rotating juices and a coffee machine to pick and make your own drinks.
The check in was smooth but the check out took a considerable amount more time and we aren't really sure why. They explained that our deposit would take 25-30 days to refund our payment card or we could buy things at their lobby shop but we didn't need anything so I guess we will have to wait. The hotel is very tall and we found the elevators could get quite busy throughout the day so we had to be patient waiting for an elevator to go down from the high floor our room was on or be ready for a crowded elevator at times.
Overall, we are very happy with our hotel choice for Dubai and were pleased with the location, shower, view, breakfast and room.
GGuest UserHighly recommend this place for any person. They got everything you need covered. The staff is very friendly and very kind. If you need any advice about places to visit or things to do while you are there, ask from Mahesh (a guy works there). He'll be very informative and specific about the places according to the time you have. Another perk is that the hotel is closer to a metro station and also surrounded by the Dubai creek. As this place is situated somewhere like the middle of Dubai, it is very easy to access anywhere you need. Rooms are clean and neat. Can easily accessible through lifts and NFC system. Do also have the mini bar option and dine in from room option. Food is also nice and tasty.
GGuest UserWonderful and charming hotel. Very clean rooms and areas surrounding. Definitely will be back.
P.s. please change your pillows, they are flat like paratha. Had neck sprains both days I stayed there because of the super thin pillow..:)

VVarunI stayed at Grand Excelsior hotel Al Barsha one night in Dec 2022. What an amazing hotel. I was greeted with such kindness and this continued throughout my stay. I booked the king room and my room was situated on the 6thfloor. The room was fantastic. Clean, modern, and had a fantastic view over .The rooms were big for dubai standards. I can’t complain about this hotel.
WWAN ROSNIDAI have stay in this hotel for 2 days, the overall experience was good but the facility inside the hotel is quite poor. They provide 2 telephones but only 1 is working inside the bathroom. No kettle nor water provided in the room. Sometime the smelly from Aircond is disturbing me. However, I love the surrounding of the hotel which very lively, a lot of restaurants which serving Pakistani food, afghani food, Arabian food and a lot more. You easily see the flights either to land or depart from DXB airport.
