What a unique experience! We went for a friends 40th birthday and the attention to detail is the best I’ve ever seen. So much time and effort has gone into making this hotel classy, quirky and simply loads of fun! There was a DJ in the library bar for happy hour which was a great touch too. The food is perfect too. Highly recommend visiting here and I’ll be telling anyone that listens!

We stayed here for two nights recently, in the Mallard. Everything was fantastic - from the support booking the room all the way to departure. The hotel itself was lovely, really clean, bright and interesting. The room was very well equipped. Throughout, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, and a particular shout-out to Jennie and Lilly who were just brilliant. The food was excellent - we had two breakfasts, two evening meals, cocktails and coffee. All in all, faultless - one of our favourite places in many years - and we'd very happily visit again.

We stayed at Highfield House as part of my wife’s birthday celebrations. From the outset communication with this very impressive boutique hotel was friendly and very efficient. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Jenny and invited to enjoy a drink in the splendid lounge before being shown to our room. The room was beautifully presented and very clean with wonderful Egyptian cotton sheets aiding a veery restful nights sleep. We dined in the atmospheric 1864 restaurant where we enjoyed superb service from Vicky, Gemma and Ryan in the cocktail bar. The Chateaubriand was cooked perfectly complimented by delicious side dishes and great wine. The following morning breakfast was equally scrumptious. Set in beautiful grounds the house stands magnificently and I would urge you to read its fascinating history (folder in the room) up to date with the current owners Andy & Lynsey whose experience in hospitality and renovation is clear to see. A highlight of our visit was meeting Phylis (Mother of Andy) and her friend of 43 years Jane (along with their partners at dinner). Phylis was wonderfully friendly, a font of knowledge regarding the house and very happy to offer any advice she could to ensure we had a great time. Thanks to all the staff who were excellent. We will be back soon.

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Highfield. The dining experience was exceptional: stunningly well-cooked and imaginative dishes, served by highly-attentive and smiling staff who conveyed genuine warmth and a desire to make our dining a memorable delight. The rooms and public spaces are designed and decorated very much in keeping with the building's history and heritage, and the gardens are impressively laid out and maintained by an expert botanist and accomplished gardener. Finally, our thanks to all those working at the hotel for their hard work in making our stay so comfortable and memorable. We shall be back!

Highest of recommendations. A stunning property and the most amazing experience from start to finish. The staff were superb. Our room, Gramercy, was cosy yet spacious and full of charm and character. It was cold and wet outside so we didn’t do much more than relax by the open fires, drink delicious cocktails and eat amazing food. We dined one night in 1864 - but could have eaten from this delicious menu all week. Would definitely recommend booking the restaurant alongside your room as it was quite busy.
