Renaissance des Moines Savery Hotel

Lobby area smelled very strongly of a cloying fragrance, to the point that I found it extremely unpleasant to be in the lobby for any period of time, which is annoying when you are traveling with a group and trying to meet up in the lobby to go places. I believe this fragrance is deliberately piped in by the hotel, but it does not smell good and it is an extremely strong smell. I also booked a King room well in advance but was given the smallest hotel room I have ever been in with what was at best a single queen bed. It might have been a double - I couldn’t really tell. The room was also very dimly lit and the bathroom was downright tiny. On the positive side, the location was great and the staff were friendly and efficient.

Hotel is in a great location. We stayed a Saturday night so parked on the street that is free after 9 and Sundays. Walked in the lobby and it smelled of cigarette smoke and musty. Front desk was friendly. Got to our room also had a weird odor but tolerable. Bed was comfortable.. bathroom was tiny. Great for a 1 day quick stay but everything costs extra.

This hotel is a gem. Warm and welcoming. The website pictures don’t do it justice. Lot’s of incredible history juxtaposed with tasteful modern updates. All staff I encountered were genuinely friendly and clearly take pride in the hotel. Charlie the shuttle driver will take you anywhere you need to go downtown, and to the airport. Ross the Front Office Manager is a gracious host and just celebrated his 25th year anniversary! Many other staff have worked here a decade or more. Lindsay, the Assistant General Manager was present everywhere ensuring everyone was comfortable. Well appointed fitness center. Breakfast buffet is solid. Coda Lounge is a great spot for a nightcap and late night snack or meal. Min the bartender has a great sense of humor and creates a fun vibe. I had a small suite, very clean and well appointed. Shower temp and pressure was perfect. Will definitely stay here again.

Great hotel and even better staff. Hotel is located just down the street from the capital and within walking distance of several restaurants and other attractions. Had dinner at Coda and it was delicious. I had the Flatbread and my colleague had thr steak sandwich. Would have liked to have tried breakfast at Scorpi but didn't have time. Loved all the little historic touches throughout the hotel while still being modern enough to meet our needs. Will definitely be back!

This property is a very good property. No complaints at all. I will give a few observations. Some of the racks in the bathroom should be replaced, quite a bit of rust. Breakfast was good but other properties are less expensive or free, please consider. The service was great! This is a busy place, but very welcoming and hospitable.

The hotel was nice and in a very convenient location downtown. The room was a nice suite, with a huge walk in closet that was bigger than the bathroom. Sounds good but the bathroom was super small and the towels were less than perfect. One actually had a rip in it which I have never seen before in any marriott brand hotel. Beds were small but comfortable.

We received an upgraded room which was spotless, the cleanest hotel room we have ever stayed in. The staff without exception were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The hotel itself, an historical building, is obviously well maintained and cared for.

Super nice hotel and room. The only downside was how small the bathroom was. There was very little space around the sink, making it a little difficult to do hair and makeup. I just pulled a chair into the bathroom doorway to hold my makeup bag, etc. Really enjoyed the on-site bar and Starbuck's coffee. It was also conveniently located close to bars and entertainment.

We needed a few extra towels and I found Jeremy in the hallway, he went out of his way, took the stairs, and got us fresh towels with a smily and very friendly service. Later he seen us in the hall and greeted us, and pressed the elevator button for us!
