This is the worst Marriott property. Hotel staff and hotel manager not responsive and have terrible customer service. Hotel rooms are dirty and worn down. Only slightly warm in showers. They don’t have maid service. Stay away from this hotel as there are much better options in the area.

Great place to stay, happy staff and very friendly too. Very impressed with the manager and the rest of the staff's personal concern for my family's comfort during the stay. Room was clean as was the building and grounds. The breakfast was good way to start the morning. Wish all places were this nice to stay! Thank You

We love this hotel and stay here every time we’re passing through this area! Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff here are professional and friendly. Breakfast was great with real plates and utensils and plenty of options! We highly recommend this hotel!

The Residence Inn is a top-quality property under excellent management. A high-level manager who was reviewing records was also overseeing the front desk as we arrived. The manager immediately checked us in at quite a bit of an earlier time than the traditional check-in time. The manager was very gracious and welcoming in the process. As an original Westin Premier charter member and subsequently a Starwood elite member for many previous decades, it is very gratifying to see the same level of quality maintained under the Marriott collection of properties. This Residence Inn is excellent across-the-board. Very new and well-maintained building, with a very pleasant, professional, and well- trained staff. Constant attention was paid to maintaining freshness of an outstanding breakfast. The Denton Residence Inn is very fortunate to have a such effective management supervision and a professional staff to maintain the high levels of quality Marriott standards.

Could be 3 to 4 stars but I had a horrible experience with the assistant general manager, Jason. On a business card I found at the front desk it states the assistant general manager is Jason Deinnocentes. I had 3 rooms reserved for graduation weekend (UNT and TWU) checking in on Thursday. The Monday before check in we received a call from Jason who told us he had to cancel two of our three rooms, but could put us up in another hotel (approximately 45 minutes away). I explained that was completely unacceptable and wanted to know why our rooms were being canceled on such short notice. He told us they overbooked. I told him we reserved 1 room in January and added 2 more rooms in March, with confirmation numbers and “over bookings” just don’t happen three days prior to check in. All he could say say was “I’m sorry.” I explained sorry wouldn’t solve my issue and I asked why we were the people picked to lose two out of three rooms. He told me “that’s just the way it goes sometimes.” What kind of customer service is that?! You don’t tell someone who’s traveling across the country that they’re losing their rooms 3 days before check in. I told him that was a poor excuse, and demanded to know why we lost our rooms. He finally said we lost them to Bonvoy members. I asked him if that was a policy and he said it’s listed on their website. If anyone can point me in the direction to where it says that please let me know as I cannot find it. Jason finally gave us back one room but we still had to find another hotel for 1 room. On the day before we arrived, Marriott called and said they had a cancellation and we could have our original room back. I guess it all worked out in the end. However, Jason’s lack of customer service caused a lot of stress, for not only me, but my elderly parents who were accompanying us on this trip. Overall the rooms were average, the front desk clerks were extremely friendly, and the breakfast was good.

I and my wife were guests of Marriott Residence Inn Denton, for 9 nights, from november 11 to november 20. I did my reservation via Booking, on August 25. We are so disappointed. At the first day the bathroom cabinet door fell out on my foot. It was not fixed (maintenance failure). We called the General Manager, Mrs. Stephanie Morgan , and she called an UBER to take me to a clinic. When we arrived there I was informed that I had to pay, the Hotel would be not responsible for expenses!! I passed 5 days limping with swollen and purple finger and nobody appears to see if I needed something!! IT WAS NOT OFFERED ANY FINANCIAL COMPENSATION FOR MY ACCIDENT AND DISCONFORT! According we saw, the maintenance of this hotel is a nightmare. At first moment that we arrived de eletronic room (421) door was nor working. The shower drain was clogged, this area flooded. I let the front desk know and not happened. You need to be careful with the level of managers you hire for your hotels. If this is Marriott policy, you are going against the grain of good customer service. I travel across the world and I will AVOID MARRIOTT HOTELS!! I’m doing the same in letting my friends know about this in social medias. Mr. Carlos Cesar Sa Rosa and Mrs Claudia Regina Tolini Dias de Souza

The room and hotel was very nice. However, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Overnight my fiancés catalytic converter was stolen. The parking lot is very well lit and we were parked very close to the front door but the hotel doesn’t have any cameras. Which I’m sure the thieves know. I also left a pair of glasses in our hotel room but they were never found by housekeeping. So if you do stay here make sure you have everything because you won’t be getting any left items back.

This hotel was a disaster - mostly, I suspect, because of corporate/ownership decisions and not on-site staff. When we arrived we had a large coupon for a reduction of our room rate. The desk clerk shrugged and said he didn’t know anything about and we had to call Marriott customer service to get it ironed out. When we checked out, more knowledgeable staff recognized the coupon and applied it appropriately. In our room, the bathroom sink was seriously clogged and the refrigerator was so loud we had to pull it out and unplug it overnight. To the credit of the staff there, when we brought it to someone’s attention a maintenance staff member appeared at our door within 10 minutes and fixed the problems. When we checked in we were told that we had the option of housekeeping every three days or once a week, but housekeeping’s arrivals were erratic and often ill-timed; the hard part of the pandemic’s over, folks, it’s time to start serving your customers again. The hotel had new (Maytag) washers and dryers that had a hard time reading debit cards; the second time we did laundry we went through three machines before we found one that worked and because the machines were new – no doubt a corporate decision - hotel staff didn’t know any more about them than the instructions on the machine (one staff member was by our side and witnessed the problem). There’s a phone in the laundry room to call the front desk for help but it didn’t work. Of course not. We were there for five days before we saw a tiny piece of paper – maybe 2”x3” - on the kitchen table, which we didn’t use, telling us we could leave our used towels and trash bags outside our door; they weren’t picked up in a timely manner even though our floor was crawling with staff all day. Self-serve housekeeping is not a selling point. There also were structural problems within our room. The bathroom sink is poorly designed, with too much counter space between where you stand and the actual sink, and as a result you have to bend over pretty far to get to the sink. We’ve never encountered a sink like that. The shower was ridiculous: the right side shower door doesn’t open and the controls are mid-shower, and as a result, you have to get partway into the tub and get wet, with water too hot or too cold, to set the temperature. The liquid soap was disgusting – a corporate choice, no doubt. Worse, the toilet and shower are in one room, behind a door, and on the other side of that door is the bathroom sink – but there’s no door between the sink area and the bed area, which means that unless you’re staying there by yourself, when one person is up, the other is awakened. It’s just poor, foolish design that saved the cost of a door at the expense of customers’ comfort and sleep. It’s unfortunate that so many of these problems are corporate-driven because the hotel staff, with the exception of the desk clerk who didn’t know about the coupon and didn’t care to investigate it, was excellent: fri

I did not book this hotel; I was "sent" here because the Courtyard was oversold and they chose my reservation to cancel. (I'm Gold Elite with Marriott - I was surprised.) It turns out the rooms here are very good - larger than one might need for an overnight stay, but the space would be a godsend for anyone traveling with children. Dickey's BBQ is 100 yards away, as well as a couple of other restaurants. Breakfast (no extra charge) was surprisingly good. It will be my new default choice for future visits to Denton,
