Comfort Suites Denham Springs

Traveling to Texas from florida we wanted to stop at a comfort in. Due to it being close by the freeway we could easily just hop on and go in the morning that is one perk we love .As traveling we called Denham springs comfort inn let them know we would like a room and that we found one for $85.00 . The lady on the phone let us know she was by Hone depot. The comfort in. Has no signs in the sky so for one you have to really look for it does not stand out As arriving to the hotel there was no one at the front desk there was a sign that said that the rep stepped away from the desk , I waited 20 min for someone I said hello anyone here we are needing a room the older lady came out and said I was on the phone with my friend . I said I called earlier about the room she said oh yes when we arrived she rang me up to $145 I said we called and she said that is the price online , my 80 year old mother said will just go out to our car and purchase that the old lady rep from the hotel said yea go to your car and then we can change your price . That is rude very disappointed in her behavior where’s the customer service at we called and spoke to her and for her to tell my 80 year old mother to go and purchase the room in the hot weather is disappointing. After that we went to our room we should have gone somewhere else . The room had roaches all over the floor in the bathroom crawling up the wall and some on the ac unit . Then when I took a shower there was someone else’s hair on the shower wall and in the tub it doesn’t look like they take care of their customers or their rooms . Very disappointing to have experienced this while being here at the hotel . The rep in front the older lady had no compassion no love very hard and rude . I hope she sees this and knows I’ll be praying for her .

The room was clean and comfortable. Everything was stocked and working. No traffic noise. Complimentary hot breakfast was ready on time. Dining room was clean. Hotel staff took pride in cleanliness. Many restaurants within .5 miles. Felt secure

If I were you, I would look for another place to stay. I had the opportunity to stay here last week, the first weekend in April with my son. As soon as you walk in the hotel there is a very distinctive smell and not a good one. Once receiving my room keys we headed to up to our room. Each floor had at least two big humidifiers in the hallway because the smell continued throughout the hotel. After arriving to my room the shower had long black strands of hair all on the walls, the backboard to the bed was pealing, (it was vinyl) and also had stains from the vinyl on the chair to the desk was completely pealed off. You would not want to touch it. When I spoke with the front desk agent to receive a refund bc I did not want to stay at this locati, she became very rude and discourteous. She looked up my reservation and stated I booked thru ******* and she could not do anything about being charged. I informed her that I didn’t book thru them I used the hotel website and proceeded to show her the confirmation email. She still proceeded to tell me I was lying, I used *******. I spoke with the general manager on Monday about my whole ordeal and Debbie informed me she had to speak with the front desk agent bc it was clearly in the computer that I didn’t book thru ******* and only offered me 1000 points. This is unacceptable.

I would like to our experience with Debbie was quite different then the Netherlands review, We saw Debbie as extremely hardworking and understand her position that the breakfast closes at 9 am sharp. She has policies she must follow and enforce as the General Manager. She must be careful to not offend anyone by allowing a guest who has not woken up in time to enjoy the wonderful breakfast because it is after 9am. She was very professional and more importantly she was fair!!!

We liked this hotel because of the price compared to what it offered. Our room on the 4th floor was modernized and spacious. On the downside the air conditioner had a musty smell and the sofa was old and nearly broken. One of the staff member, het name was Debbie, was at the front desk and also running the breakfast two out of three days. She was extremely rude to the guests and to her own colleagues. She shut off nearly everything at the breakfast even before it should be closed without any notice. She didn’t even ask the customers who were still having their breakfast if they need some more food before closing. When one of the guests asked for a new cup of orange juice she responded negative and rude. She was walking around with a very angry face and didn’t show any respect to her guests. Her behavior spoiled our breakfast experience and lowered our hotel rating. The breakfast itself was quite standard but fine for our needs. The hotel offers an outdoor pool but because of the low water temperature this was not usable in December.

The lobby and hallway to the room were promising. It seemed to be a newish hotel. The housekeeping was not up to par though and had me wondering if I could trust the cleanliness of anything in the room. The TV stand had crumbs on it as well as watermarks from the last guest. I found a bottlecap on the floor so I’m not sure if the room had been vacuumed. The tile floor was greasy from too much cleanser. The carpeting and window coverings were stained. The tub’s drain cover was missing and there was a nice size wad of hair in the drain. The bathroom mirror wasn’t clean. The mini fridge made popping noises all night. On the plus side, there were plenty of towels in the bathroom.

About 2 hours after we arrived ex, I laid over the covers of one bed and kept having a smell come and go. I got up looking for the source of the smell and it turns out I was laying on a urine-soaked bed. I was disgusted. We packed up to leave to find somewhere else to stay. My children and I went pack the car while my husband stopped at the front desk to speak to a manager to report this. The receptionist went to the room to look and came back to speak to the manager. The conversation could be overheard from the lobby and the manager said she refused to come out and even speak to us on the issue. We took the manager's name, Vanessa Messenger, and left. I have never been treated so unprofessionally at a hotel in my life. The level of rudeness was astounding, not to mention the dirtiness of the entire place. I will be reporting this hotel to the health department.
