You can enjoy takeout from several long-standing restaurants directly on the first floor of the hotel. The room facilities are new and smart, offering views of the courtyard outside the window. Getting to the Yungang Grottoes is very convenient."

"This was my first stay at a Howard Johnson hotel, and I was very impressed with the service at the front desk, restaurant, and fitness center. The staff were all warm and courteous. I stayed for three nights and dined exclusively at the hotel restaurants. The Chinese restaurant had great food and was excellent value for money. They delivered fruit to my room daily, and in the evenings, the housekeeping staff brought a complimentary sweet pear soup. Given how dry the weather is in Datong this month, the pear soup was a thoughtful touch and great for my throat. I really appreciate the hotel's considerate service."

"Facilities: The facilities are excellent, with smart home controls for everything – curtains, lights, TV, alarm clock, all powered by Tmall Genie. Everything looks quite new. Cleanliness: The hygiene was okay, but I'm not sure if it was an allergy specific to Datong or something else, but after one night, my nose felt itchy and I kept sneezing. It got much better after I turned on the air conditioning. Environment: The hotel's internal environment is good. It's about 2-3 kilometers from the ancient city, which is a comfortable bike ride away. The hotel also has slow-charging stations, so if you're driving, you can charge your car overnight. We just went directly into the ancient city for meals. Service: The service attitude was very good."

"Traveling from Hangzhou to Datong this time, I stayed at the Yungang Hotel. My first impression after checking in was: Datong hotels are incredibly grand! 😂 When I arrived at night, the fountain at the entrance turned on, the lights lit up, and the whole hotel looked particularly impressive. Inside, it was 'resplendent' all the way through; the lobby and corridors had the feel of an old-school high-star hotel, perfect for casual photos. The room was much larger than I expected, and the bed was very wide. I could spread out my suitcase completely without it getting in the way. The cleanliness was meticulous; the bedding, desk, and bathroom were all very neat. Overall, my stay for several nights was very comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious, and the double sinks were very convenient – two people could get ready in the morning without fighting for space. The breakfast is also worth praising. The variety was truly extensive, not just a few random items like some hotel breakfasts. There was a huge spread of fruits, hot dishes, and main courses. Those with decision paralysis would definitely go back for several rounds! 😂 It's especially friendly for tourists; eating a hearty breakfast before heading out to explore means you won't get hungry easily for the whole morning. Overall, it's a place I'd be happy to recommend. The environment is grand enough, the room is spacious and clean enough, and breakfast is abundant. If you care about accommodation comfort when visiting Datong, you can confidently choose Yungang Hotel, especially if you spend your days exploring and want a good rest at night. Next time I come to Datong, it will likely be among my top choices for accommodation."

"This hotel is essentially next door to the Yungang Grand Hotel and is probably one of the best hotels in the area. The overall decor is very grand, giving off a luxurious vibe. The room itself was fantastic; the cleanliness, amenities, and room service all deserve five stars! Downstairs is Fengling Court, and it's about 1 km from Wanda Plaza, so it's quite convenient for getting around and dining. The downsides are that the pool closes pretty early, around 8 PM, and the changing rooms smelled strongly of urine. The pool water also didn't feel very clean, so that part of the experience was just okay. Additionally, breakfast was incredibly crowded, and you had to find your own seat. I hope they can optimize this, though I understand it's peak tourist season. Overall, I was still very satisfied!"

The location is very convenient for tourists; it's only about a ten to twelve-minute walk to the Datong Ancient City direct shuttle bus stop. In the evenings, you can walk through the ancient city and past the Heyang Gate to reach the Sipaifang commercial food street, which is always bustling. It's so convenient and comfortable to enjoy the beautiful ancient city views and explore the Dongnanyi Historical and Cultural Pedestrian Street. I highly recommend this hotel! 👍"
