There are not many people and it is very quiet, so for supermarkets and places to eat, you have to go to the Drum Tower. The store very thoughtfully provides bicycles for guests to ride for free. It is very close to the ancient city wall and can be reached on foot. The Drum Tower, Huayan Temple, and Nine Dragon Wall can be reached in about 10 minutes by bicycle. The decoration of the entire B&B is elegant and fashionable, the rooms are clean, and the facilities are very new. Every service staff in the store is extremely warm, easy-going and thoughtful. The breakfast provided is also very rich. Because we have to get up early on the first day to go to the scenic spots, the clerk specially got up early to prepare breakfast for us to take with us on the way. This stay was a very good experience. It not only left a deep impression on Datong, but also left unforgettable memories of Datong people and Datong hotels.

It cost 1,488 yuan to live in a Hampton by Hilton. There was almost no soundproofing. The sound of playing cards next door was loud in the middle of the night. The air conditioner kept showing d5 and not starting. In short, the experience was very different at this price. The only advantage may be that it is new.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights while exploring Datong and surrounding attractions. The location was perfect for us - nestled between both major train stations, a short walk to the old city, and conveniently very close to the bus station to the Hanging Monastry. The staff were very polite and helpful, some could speak some English. We were given various complimentary gifts and desserts during our stay. We loved the free tea (of various varieties) in the lobby! The room was a little old but clean, comfortable and quiet. I guess the only complaint is the elevator - they only have two but about 14 floors and it was utter chaos trying to move about in the morning when everyone wants to check out. Small issue though.

When we arrived we were given the wrong room in B tower with single beds, we had to go back downstairs and show the booking again to request the correct double room in A tower. The rooms and amenities are old, and the fridge is broken. I called reception who told me to bring any items I want to cool down to the reception and use their fridge, when I asked if we can swap the broken fridge for a working fridge, they said all of the fridges are like this. They won't admit the fridges are all broken, but all of the fridges in the hotel are warm and won't make your food / beverages cold. The hotel is in dire need of an upgrade, and they need to replace the fridges.
