"Check in was smooth and the lady was friendly, a welcome drink at a nearby pub was a nice touch. Room was very basic and quite bare. Fittings/fridge appeared new, like the place had been refreshed but you can see it was done on the cheap with the bathroom counters and lack of wardrobes - both just unfished wood countertops. Definitely missing bed-side tables for charging phones/ place to put things. Nice clean bedding and fluffy towels. Housekeeping shouldn't have bothered, poorly made bed and no cleaning that I could see. For short stays I don't think the above is a problem but for 2 or more nights its missing homely touches. Rooms are really spacious and the aircon is decent. Biggest problem for short stays is the noise - unsure how the hotel could improve on this though, as its noisy from people on the street. The location is right between the nightclubs and on Saturday night the noise was a real problem. Lots of yelling down the street that felt like it was right outside my room. Woken up 3 or 4 times at crazy hours. Would be perfect location though if you are using it as a base for nightlife. Pool & surrounds was clean and tidy but could definitely use some TLC to make the place feel a little more cared for. Did have decent barbecue facilities. I mainly booked this place as it was cheapest in Darwin at the time but I still think overpriced for what it is. Not nice enough for $200+ a night...but compared to the other pricing in Darwin, it really wasnt too bad for what it is."
