Absolutely amazing beach and drinks and food! There were 2 dogs while we were there who were super nice and would even go on the paddle boards with us! Drinks were all inclusive and the whole island was very relaxed and family friendly! Absolutely loved it!

This island really is pretty unbelievable! I had no expectations as it was a first to both Belize and to a private island. But let me tell you...it was a fabulous experience. Beautiful to say the least. Great staff who were always available in assisting or just talking or just handing us a drink. They knew us by name within the first minutes we arrived (8 of us plus toddler). The island was always raked and tidy. The accommodations were superb. The kayaking was incredible as was the snorkeling to the reefs. Get a massage! It is life changing!! I want to call out a special thanks to Dan, who was always happy, helpful and available to help with the kayaks. Also to Louis from the front desk who was there for anything. Karaoke was a blast with much laughter. The food was plentiful and excellent. Fresh fish, lobster, delicious soup every dinner. Eating outside on the beach was very special with lights hanging over us. Buffet dinners had great selections. I only wish it wasn't so great there as I hate to be home!! It definitely is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. But maybe I will go again for another round.

We visited Thatch Cay in December. I'm here to brag about the staff. Absolutely amazing. Thank you to everyone for a lovely time. In spite of heavy rain during our stay, your caring, and warm staff made it memorable. Most especially, Shakira, Anivar, Charles, Dan, Jackson, and William. Thank you so much!

We did the Rock and Reef package - 3 nights in the jungle at Copal Tree Lodge, 4 nights here. Room is great - we stayed in the premier oceanfront cabana. It has a roof top deck the size of the room - with a thatch rooftop patio and a hammock and two chairs/table. In the room is a king-sized bed, a chair and a single window seat with an ocean view. This resort has a community feel - all meals are served at a long table with the other guests. The main room has a bar where guest gather. Happy Hour is at an overwater bungalow with all of the guests. We loved getting to know/spending time with the other guests/staff. Our favorite bartender was Junior. He was always there to get us anything we wanted/needed. They also have two island dogs. Marley went kayaking with my wife and stayed overnight in our room! He was awesome! There is a beach area with loungers, SUPs, kayaks etc. There was a small bar there and the staff took great care of us. The same staff was there the whole time we were there, so you really get to know them. We loved the community interaction. They will bring you a drink at your lounger - you don't even have to get up! I would 100% recommend this place. I can't say enough about how helpful and accommodating the staff was.

Not near as nice as presented! The reviews here must be screened because it certainly is NOT a 5-star resort. Pluses: Staff, staff, staff are very helpful, kind but can’t make up for environment, rooms and food. Negatives: 1) Neglected maintenance, island is severely eroding, plastic garbage on shores, unable to walk full length of 1 mile. Yes, Sarah storm damage recently, but it needs a million $ of work to bring it up to anything close to 5 star status. 2) Comfort: looked forward to unpacking and staying for a week, but ZERO place for clothes, no closet, just some poorly constructed plywood drawer that was difficult to open. Had to live out of suitcases on the floor :( Not even a table or chair in the room. They had wall space to add a clothes rack and shelf so an easy fix. 3) Food: Mediocre at best, nothing special. Pork, chicken, some fish, most protein overcooked and dry. Breakfast same, boring, nothing special. 4) Activities: snorkel trips were good, kayak use very nice, nothing else to do on island. Bugs were terrible…two weeks home and still covered in bites despite using DEET faithfully. Again, staff are great, doing the best they can and wanting to make your stay nice for you… shout out to Jr, Dan, Charles, Anivar!

Exotic getaway off the coast of Belize. We did a day trip from Hopkins Bay Resort but were treated just like overnight guests. Lovely beach, helpful staff, excellent service. We kayaked and saw starfish and rays, relaxed by the beach, and took advantage of the numerous beach games. Cabanas over the water were really cool. Food was delicious. We will definitely return next time we want to unplug from the world and just relax.

Thatch Caye was a unique experience. It is the kind of place where you connect with nature and people and away from technology. Service has been great. The food was not necessarily fancy, but healthy and fresh. We enjoyed the outdoor activities, snorkeling, island crawling, lobster hunting etc. Great for kids and definitely recommend

From the arrival to every moment they were needed, the crew working on the Island made every bit of the trip so amazing. Everyone was friendly, attentive, basically always looking to make sure you had a great experience. I can't think of any other time I've ever felt this great going somewhere before. If you get the chance to come to Thatch Caye I highly recommend it. Wish there was a way to give this review a higher rating than I can. Thank you to Shakira, Alvinar, Ritchie, Darwin and my man Junior! Shakira was great, kept the party going. Alvinar helped me when I had the worst acid reflux and always had a great story to tell. Junior and I shared a lot of laughs the whole time on the Island. Wish the vacation didn't have to end, but rest assured I will be making this a yearly trip. See you guys again soon! -Brent aka Diablo hahaha.

My recent 4-day stay at Thatch Caye Resort was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff made us feel right at home. The oceanfront cabana room was a dream—waking up to the sound of the waves and the stunning view was a highlight of our trip. We spent our days snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters, and the resort’s team ensured we had everything we needed for a fantastic experience. Everyone was incredibly accommodating, going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our time. One of the unexpected delights was the island’s friendly dogs, who added a unique charm to our stay. If you're looking for a place to unwind and connect with nature, Thatch Caye is the perfect spot. I can't recommend it enough!
