Daintree Eco Lodge
"Amazing amazing amazing.... can't say enough about this place - from amazing food to amazing staff we loved our stay !!!"
Daintree Wilderness Lodge
"Imagine a quiet sanctuary in a rainforest with only birdsong and the quiet scuttle of hidden creatures disturbing the silence. A 1.5h drive from Cairns Airport will land you in your own cabin in the Daintree. The small but attentive team ensures you are comfortable and their enthusiasm for the environment is clear, whether excitedly pointing out a hidden nest above the breakfast terrace or recommending the excellent food. We especially loved the full length window in the shower that gave you a private view. Bed was super comfy. Close by are two excellent ice cream makers for hot days and the hop to Cape Trib is easy and short, giving plenty of time for rainforest walks and relaxation. Staff will remind you to order dinner and breakfast ahead of time to keep service smooth. We didn’t make use of the shared hot tub but we relaxed on the sofa outside our room. Plenty of bug spray at the reception and a torchlight is provided for the boardwalk to your cabin at night. As the start to a 3 week break, it was the perfect decompression chamber to begin our trip. My first visit to the area was on a rushed day trip but do yourself a favour and stop here for a few nights. You won’t regret it."
Heritage Lodge - in the Daintree
"We ended up staying here last-minute as another hotel had to stay closed due to cyclone damage. I'm honestly so glad it turned out that way. Our room was one half of a cabin right in the rainforest. We used flashlights to get around. Our room was cozy and cabin-like. Parking was easy. It was a short walk to the main building, where we could eat at their restaurant, which was very, very good. Best of all was the creek swimming hole. It was magical and cool, and we loved it. The hotel gave good advice and knowledge of the area, and check-in and out were easy. It was an easy drive north to the Daintree and south to Daintree ice cream company, crocodile tours, and the fery. Loved our stay!"
Daintree Peaks Eco Stays
"Terrible coffee served by a very rude man in a cafe with the ambiance of an army barracks. And to top it off the crap coffee that “only comes in mugs” cost $14 Absolute rubbish Does the Daintree a disservice. Honestly it was the worst place I have ever been to in the world!"
Daintree Beach Resort
"Large caravan sites, great pool and lovely rainforest surrounds. We stay on a powered caravan site with a concrete slab, but resort includes camping tents, glamping tents and cabins and also has a licensed food truck area and camp kitchen. Staff are great!!"
Daintree Manor B&B
"What a welcome and what wonderful hosts. Very friendly and informative. We appreciated a lot more of the devastation of Cyclone Jasper listening to them. We didn't really realise this was "off the grid" but what a great experience anyway. Well proportioned breakfasts. Idyllic spot, so peaceful and beautiful"
Noah Creek Eco Huts
"A much-anticipated trip with my partner. We stayed in the Bower Hut at Noah Creek Eco Huts for three nights, which was both very comfortable and relaxing. Even though the weather decided to rain all of the nights and most of the days we were still able to get about and enjoy some of the beautiful walks on the property and around the area. On the first afternoon when we were cooking our dinner in the well-equipped outdoor kitchen, we were visited by one of the local Cassowary which walked right passed our hut, not to be out done the very next morning, early we had another visit from another Cassowary who again walked up right beside us letting us get some great pictures, what an experience. I was also able to get some great photos of many of the birds and the rainforest that we visited. We were like giggling school kids while having hot showers in the pouring rain in the wonderful outdoor bathroom. Our wonderful hosts could not have been more helpful and the facilities more than adequate. Can't wait to return"
Thornton Beach Bungalows Daintree
"The Big house for 6 have everything you can dream of. The owner is the best and do helpful. Please Stay!"
Daintree Crocodylus
"My partner and I stayed at the Daintree Crocodylus Village in January 2024, just after the tourist restrictions were lifted. The location is absolutely stunning, surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to escape for an immersive, close-to-nature experience. Although many attractions were closed, Sally provided us with excellent directions to explore local beaches and trekking areas. She also suggested areas for us to look out for on a night walk through the property, allowing us to witness the local wildlife up close. We were the first tourists on the island after Cyclone Jasper, and on the night of our stay, heavy rainfall caused the ferry service to shut down, stranding us. Despite these challenges, Sally and Steve were incredibly helpful. They used all their contacts to ensure we could leave the island and catch our flight the next morning. They organised an emergency evacuation boat during high tide and heavy rain, showing exceptional dedication to their guests and relieving a huge stress for us. We are also so grateful to Steve, who, through Sally and Steve's network, ensured our rental car was returned and handled all necessary procedures so we wouldn't be charged for the extra five days the car was stranded due to the emergency. We definitely plan to return to experience everything the Daintree has to offer. Despite the closures and roadblocks, the location's beauty left a lasting impression on us. We can only imagine how breathtaking it must be when everything is fully operational. A heartfelt thank you to Sally and Steve for all their help, and apologies for the delay in posting this review!"
