Not worth the money they charge. The gentleman at the front desk did not seem to like or know his job his job. He made errors at check in by. Hanging the wrong credit card, never sent luggage to the room and did not seem to care in the least each time we tried to get the situation rectified. At checkout we were mistakenly charged for a meal. There was total confusion on the hotels part to resolve. Spoke to the front desk manager at the time of checkout, called and spoke to Pat the front desk manager a few day later. He told me he would look into the charges and call me back that same day, he never returned my call. Call a few day later and asked for the hotel manager, Micheal, explained the situation about the incorrectly charged meal. He said he would look into it and call me it two days, he never returned the call as he said he would. Had to call the hotel again, no more than a week later. Spoke to another manager who said he figured out the issue and credited my credit card a few days earlier. Still have not seen the credit. Not impressed with the service at all. Anyone can make a mistake in a bill but it is how it is dealt with that determines the customers experience. The managers at this hotel don’t seem to understand customer service. Very surprising but true.

The Press Hotel is a very nice hotel; clean, modern, upscale. But I found the valuer for the money was lacking. The food in their restaurant, Union, was above average but the prices were too high for what you got. Breakfast for two (one order of oatmeal and one order of a smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese) came to $44, and with a 20% tip thrown in the meal cost $53. For breakfast! My dinner the night before was similar; very tasty food, but not worth the $125 price for two people. If you don't mind spending lots of $$, it's a great hotel with excellent service and nice rooms.

The hotel is clean and has a great location!
We were however very disappointed that this hotel did not have a pool like the app lists!
Currently there also is no one to cook for at the restaurant so there was only a bar no food!

4.5 stars We stayed one night while passing through Portland on the way home. Check-in was quick and friendly. The lobby is nice. Room was clean, spacious, and updated. Bed was comfortable. Front desk staff were helpful. Location is great! We had a couple of great walks to dinner or to get coffee. The Old Port neighborhood was cute! We ordered room service for breakfast. Service was slower than expected due to staffing issues, but we both enjoyed our meals. We didn’t get to take advantage of the spa or restaurant, but if we find ourselves in Portland again, we definitely will. We always have nice experiences at Westins, and this stay was no different.

We made a last minute decision to take a trip from the NYC area up to Portland to attend an event, and with Labor Day weekend traffic, we did not arrive until about 11:30PM at night with 3 exhausted kids. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel -- the kids slept in the bedroom and my husband and I slept on the pull-out couch in the living room area of the suite. I was anticipating noise because of the proximity to the airport, but we never heard a single plane! When we requested extra towels, pillows, blankets, etc they were brought up in a timely fashion by a friendly and helpful staff member. The included breakfast was a really nice perk -- everyone had plenty of options (one of our travel companions is vegan and had options). My husband in particular enjoyed the freshly made omlets.

April School vacation we planned a one night stay-cation at the Ramada. I should have known better, being that we live less than a few miles away from the Ramada. But, I unfortunately trusted the 3 star rating. We live near the Clarion hotel and we were looking for step up from that hotel. We were looking a simple hotel that felt safe, clean, decent food, and had a pool. The Ramada failed on all fronts! The only good thing about this hotel is the exceptionally patient staff behind the front desk. This staff has an incredibly hard job. While trying to perform their jobs, they are constantly monitoring unwelcome guests and guest who have been served far too much alcohol at their bar and restaurant. This creates a unsafe space for hotel employees and guests. We were a party of three one adult and two children under the age of 10. My children both expressed feeling unsafe while we were outside of our room. One of many incidents included a very intoxicated man who was a hotel guest at their bar. He came towards us calling my children his children and walked right into a wall, and fell down right in front of them. They have never knowingly seen a drunk person. Now thanks to our stay at the Ramada they have. This was one of many experiences we had that led us to feel unsafe outside of our room. In our room there was a pubic hair on the ice bucket tray. The rooms are dingy and bathrooms feel very worn in and dirty. We made sure our doors were bolted and secure. The doors felt secure with the exception of the patio door but we were on the 3rd floor. We did have dinner at the Seasons restaurant. Skip the food and get dessert. The desserts were really good. The mozzarella sticks we ordered only one actually had cheese in it. The tater tots were freezer burned and you could taste that even though they were smothered in cheese. Finally the pool and hot tubs. Algae around the pool platform allows for an extra slippery surface and of course fungus. The hot tubs were very cloudy and felt a layer of slime on our skin after being in them. The pool lining is lifted in many areas and has a ring of dirt around the interior edges. In the early morning we found a non guest using the pool area to bath. Next time we are looking for a average hotel for a stay-cation that feels safe, clean, decent food and a pool we will choose the Clarion near our house. Or perhaps we will splurge and get a good quality hotel elsewhere in town.

My wife and I came to Portland Maine to visit family. We stayed at the Sheraton Sable Oaks and we were very pleased we did. I would like to thank Chris Merriam Exec Chef for his kind and generous hospitality. What a gentleman! Meg Poulin Sales Manager happened to come by our table just to say hello. Imagine that? And Suzie our waitress took very good care us. Through our conversations we determined that between the three of these wonderful people there was over 90 years of hospitality expeience at this single property. Can you imagine? That ”is” the testament of this matchless property. We...will...be staying there again. Thank you all

Outstanding
We have visited this place a few times now. We like the walk to the sea and the local golf course a few miles away. It is peaceful and laid back with a few dogs running around to liven things up a bit. Smores by the firepit and hanging outside at night is very nice too. The rooms are just like the facility itself: well done. Really well done. They work hard on impressing you with the food and for the most part are excellent. I think they overdo it a bit on breakfast and they do not have those uber sausages anymore but they have the Rishi!
GGuest UserThe price/performance ratio is relatively high, suitable for taking children with you. The swimming pool is also good, and the breakfast can be used for two casually.

Kelly is incredible. A master of her craft who can engage in conversation with wit and charm as she fashions a top shelf cocktail. She is the reason why me and my colleagues continue to book at this location. Thanks Kelly for the incredible service and consistent professionalism.
GGuest UserI chose this place as a less expensive alternative to hotels in Portland. Also because motels are safer during COVID than hotels (more ventilation because the room opens to the outdoors). First, I want to say my room was clean and comfortable. It's nothing fancy, but you get what you pay for. Also, I had a last-minute change to my reservation and the manager was very accommodating. So, thank you for that. My one non-COVID sort-of complaint is that, while you get a fridge and microwave (nice features), there's no coffee maker in the room. Would be nice to have that instead of the microwave, maybe. My biggest issue is that there were no COVID protocols in place. I went into the office to check in and the office was SEALED. I mean no windows open, door shut. The manager who checked me in was not wearing a mask. Two other guests were in there. I was the only one wearing a mask. And check in still involves filling out a card, even if you book on Booking.com, so it takes several minutes. I was quite eager to get out of there. When I got to my room, I realized he had given me a queen room rather than the king I booked, but I didn't want to go back into the office to request a room change. Then it occurred to me that if the manager wasn't wearing a mask, housekeeping probably didn't either. I kept the door open and opened the windows to air out my room before removing my mask, following what the experts say. Please open your office windows. It was 72 degrees and gorgeous outside. No reason to have everything sealed up.
JJim Bishop The desk person was great, the room very clean and odor free. Surprised how quiet it was being so close to major highways. Much of
the hotel runs away from the road toward a wooded area. It`s not a 5 star and shows normal wear and tear for it`s age, a little floor squeaking from above, etc. One would have to be a snob to find anything to complain about. Excellent value for the area and the times.
CchuGreat location tho it wasn't situation in the heart of downtown. Clean and bright room. Due to the covid the housekeeping service wasn't delivered during the 3 nights we stayed. The price was extremely expensive (actually all hotels in the whole Portland). Anyhow, great spacious room and I had a pleasant stay.
The room was very hot, and it was difficult to control the temperature. What bothered me most, however, was that no housekeeping services are provided unless you are staying over three nights. The misleading tiny sign over the sink states that towels will not be changed in order to save energy. How much energy do they save by not making the bed? It does not tell you that the bed will not be made or the room vacuumed. All other hotels I have stayed in give you the option to decline housekeeping, but not La Quinta. They seem to think the guests are ignorant and will not realize that what they are saving is money for the company rather than energy, and it this dishonesty that will cause me to choose a different hotel next time.
GGuest UserIs a great place to go for relaxation very clean and pleasant the rooms are clean the only time we didn’t have in the bathroom was only one facecloth 2 towels and 1 hand towel and no plastic bags in the trash can other than that it’s a very nice place to go
KKatherineThe hotel staff were extremely nice at check in and out. They also tried to be accommodating when we asked for pen an paper. However the stay was supposed to include pool access, which it did not. As well as continental breakfast, which was simply a jar of cereal, frozen sausage or eggs an a few bagels. There was only bananas for fruit an not many, first come first serve it seemed. They also had a very outdated waffle batter machine that would probably be very health questionable.. Our room was comfy, however the dirty qtip we saw next to the couch as soon as we walked in and the giant cobwebs in the corner were a little off putting.. After being in the area we probably wouldn't be back unless it was the last option..
