First class service. My husband and I spent 2 nights at Crathorne as it was his birthday. We met some amazing staff. A big thank you to Krista for arranging everything. We were met by Elie a lovely gentleman who came out to meet us and took our bags to our room. The 2 ladies on reception were lovely and gave us some ideas of places to visit. Our room was spotless as was the whole hotel, housekeeping does a fabulous job. In the evening when we went for dinner we had the pleasure of having Byron service us. He was so lovely and professional nothing was to much trouble. The food was first class and we enjoyed every meal. All the staff we had the pleasure of meeting were very friendly and professional. We will return. Thank you Crathorne.

I was given a voucher for Hand Picked hotels as a present, and chose Crathorne as being in Yorkshire we could easily travel there within the day and have time to see the area. We were impressed with every aspect of the hotel. All the staff were very friendly, polite and helpful, upgrading us to a better room when our booked room was not quite ready, and giving prompt and effective attention when we mentioned a sight smell in our bathroom. The bed was beautifully comfortable and warm, and the heating in the room was efficient. The bathroom was fitted with excellent facilities. Breakfast in the very impressive dining room was an enjoyable experience. The choice of items to order was wide and interesting, and could be adapted to our specific individual requests. My one disappointment was that the cereal offering did not feature high quality muesli, only an unimpressive gluten free packet, along with very average packeted cereals.

We loved this place. Lovely country house feel. Plenty of parking. Staff were exceptionally welcoming (reception, bar, restaurant, turn down etc.). Surprised at the quality of food and how nicely busy the restaurant was on a Monday night. Would recommend.

Fantastic hotel, we arrived on Friday evening to a lovely welcome. Beautiful room and ate in the bar on the first night. The staff were fabulous, very knowledgeable about wines… we had to try a selection! Local farm shop was very nice next door and we went off to explore saltburn on sea which was lovely then onto Yarm for a bit of shopping. There was plenty to do in the local area. Dinner in the restaurant on Saturday night was very good, again the staff were brilliant and paired wines to our menu. Breakfast on both days was great, nothing too much trouble. We will absolutely be back again.

What a fabulous stay! My partner and I had 3 nights away with my mother to celebrate her 80th Birthday. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after, lovely, friendly, happy staff. We chatted with the gardener who had worked there for 15 years! The grounds are beautifully kept. Both our bedrooms were very comfortable indeed, well stocked (and re-stocked) with everything we needed. I particularly like the small bottle of fresh milk in the fridge, something Hand Picked Hotels seem to do instead of small UHT milks. The main restaurant evening meal was excellent quality, as was the bar food we had the second night. Breakfast equally as good, excellent quality produce and well presented, with cooked to order breakfast choices from an extensive menu. I would definitely return and my mother is now looking at other hotels in the group where she wants to go and visit! Thank you to all staff. It’s good to stay somewhere and actually feel looked after and where good service still counts!

Our afternoon tea at Crathorne Hall was superb. We immediately received a smiling welcome from Sarah who looked after us throughout. Sarah provided all the details about our afternoon tea food and her personality and helpfulness shone. She made our visit so special. A big thank you for your attentive and helpful approach. Our food was all delicious also. On leaving Emma at reception was personable and we will definitely return. Can’t wait!!

Beautiful afternoon tea with great service was really lovely setting. Everything that was served was of high quality certainly one of the best afternoon teas we have experienced. Highly recommend will be back soon for a second visit. Thank you
