Motel 6 Cranbrook, BC

Scam, posts fake rooms online, confirms booking then cancels the booking when you don't give them more money, also very rude over the phone and will spam your phone at six in the morning, save yourself the headache and stay at one of the more friendly law abiding businesses

My husband & I read many reviews for hotels/motels in Cranbrook before choosing Motel 6. It had the only reviews we read, that said clean or very clean. That is very important to us! We booked for 3 nights & chose a suite. We were pleasantly surprised to find it had two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed & a wall mounted TV. The bed was comfy as were the pillows. Unfortunately, the rooms are small & had no dressers or closets & only one room had a clock on the bedside table. There has obviously been some renovating as there was laminate on the floors. The kitchenette had a full size fridge & a 2 burner ceramic stove with modern countertops. The bathroom had a square sink with a modern tap. Our only con was our room was upstairs rather than on the ground floor & I have mobility issues. The outside of the motel is dated & isn't kept as clean as the inside. This would have given me the wrong impression, had I not read the reviews before booking. We left Cranbrook & travelled to Spokane, coming back the following evening. I had not pre-booked this time & I was shocked to find Motel 6 had no vacancy at 7pm. Therefore, we did not stay in Cranbrook that night. So travellers beware. Get there early or have a reservation!! The room rates are very reasonable & we would not hesitate to recommend this motel & will book there on future visits for sure.

Basic motel. Very clean. Paper thin walls, therefore noisy. Easy access from highway. No breakfast or coffee supplies in room. Should be available Covid is over. Reasonably priced. Would I stay there again, only if nothing else was available.

This place is way better than we expected. We were travelling through the mountains and were looking for a reasonable place to stay. We weren't sure what to expect from the outside but it had good reviews. We weren't disappointed. Our room was 3/4 renovated. It even had granite in the kitchenette and bathroom. Very clean. Loads of space. Cheap price. We would stay here again.

Disappointed that there was no swimming pool ! It is filled with sand ! The exterior of the property might dissuade a potential customer but the interior redeems itself! Fantastic A/C that can be set by temp. Comfy bed, strong wi-fi, nice decor, ample towels, nice bedding but the faucet in the bathtub filled very slowly! Check out was rather problematic as the owner was cleaning & unavailable to take our room keys! Another staff member flagged him down! The price for a night was incredibly economical!

On saturday evening I booked a room by myself at the Cranbrook motel6. I do not have a credit card so I paid the 200$ deposit instead. It was very loud there and the bed, bedding and pillows were clearly old and we'll used but I didn't complain. I actually decided to stay a second night as I had a friend in town and they had time to visit with me, so for 20$ more than I paid the previous night for the same room, I also stayed Sunday night. It's hard for me to share this, but how I was treated was so wrong, I have to share. While sleeping I got my period and was unaware until morning. Some blood got on the sheets, not much but a little so before the hotel owner did his inspection I wrapped the blanket up to avoid feeling embarrassed. He not only opened the sheets and spread them out on the bed, but then came to the lobby screamed at me that there was blood on his blankets and I needed to come see, but also took me back to the room where he told me how disgusting it was and that I had to pay for all the bedding. He also yelled at me because I used a facecloth to wash my makeup off with and there was make up on it. He threw that at me and told me I could keep it cause he can't use it now. I was very upset but I tried to explain to him that it would come out in cold water no problem, that it was from my period, that it's not something I meant to happen and he told me I shouldn't have stayed there if I had my period. He gave me 150$ of my 200$ and told me if I had a problem with that to get in touch with head office. This is unacceptable. It's degrading, it's embarrassing and I was left in tears, traumatized by what had happened. There was nothing professional about how it was handled and to have to explain my menstrual mishap to man telling me it's gross is just wrong on so many levels. I have emailed head office and they have not gotten back to me. I will never go there again.
