A very comfortable overnight stopover in a rural setting off the A1 north of Newcastle. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel, which also serves as the breakfast room. Our breakfasts were cooked to order, no luke warm eggs here getting colder by the minute under heat lamps. The breakfast staff were very jovial. Our room and bathroom was comfortable, tidy and clean. One minor niggle was a small amount of mould around the window frames. Perhaps housekeeping could pay greater attention to this detail. We will certainly consider this hotel for future overnight stops

I travel for work and stays in a lot of hotels, never have I stayed in such a dirty disgusting hotel room, there were crisps left under the bedside table, very dirty and dusty under the dressing table and absolutely filthy behind the chair, there was black mould on the inside of the shower, this could not have happened over a period of days and must not have been cleaned, hoovered or dusted for a long while, I doubt that the chair had been pulled out in months and the carpets not hoovered in a long time, definitely not worth the £90 per night price tag

Overpriced food . Very bland. Staff where excellent. Would I visit again . No. The place itself is very niece in lovely surroundings but the food was so bland if I bought anything off the menu it would probably taste the same as the last thing. Thanks.

Stayed here as a stopover on route to Amsterdam ferry. Good points first. Large car park, decent (albeit expensive) food. Room ok and bed comfy. However, we didn't get much sleep as the room was near a water tank that kept making loud noises when people used water. But the really bad thing about this stay was the black mould in the shower and over the windows. I don't think the cleaners have come across mould cleaning solutions or bleach. I would be really embarrassed if these were my shower and windows at home. Shower was so bad I didn't really want to get in it. So I would avoid this hotel - at £94 it was very poor value.

Visited for 2 nights rooms big and clean but toilet seat broken and room very warm in addition a lot of empty drinks glasses and rubbish left outside not a good look. All not major problems but would improve the experience if rectified would still recommend

2nd time staying here and again was not disappointed. Room as always was clean, fresh and the bed is very comfortable. We booked dinner and was served by the lovely Julie. She was very attentive to all customers and spent time with all of them. She is an asset to your team and I hope she is here for a long time to come. Thank you Julie you made our stay from the Cambert loving couple

Super comfy bed, my request for a ground floor room met. Slept like a log! Whilst the decor may not be 'posh' the rooms are really functional and the service from the team is excellent. Plenty of car parking. As a business traveller having a place to work is important and there's a decent 'desk' space here, and also a nice armchair for that 'post working day' collapse and relax. Breakfast is very good indeed.

Food lovely but service is terrible. We were using the 40% discount on main meals and when ordering we’re told we don’t need to do anything other than produce the phone. Went to pay and the most obnoxious waitress argued and insisted that we had to physically down load a code. She was rude and really argumentative and there was absolutely no need for this. On the way out we mentioned this to the manager who didn’t seem bothered by the behaviour of his staff. I have visited this venue a number of times with different friends and have never had this sort of bad behaviour before. I won’t be back nor will I recommend
