My partner and I stayed at the Daintree Crocodylus Village in January 2024, just after the tourist restrictions were lifted. The location is absolutely stunning, surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to escape for an immersive, close-to-nature experience. Although many attractions were closed, Sally provided us with excellent directions to explore local beaches and trekking areas. She also suggested areas for us to look out for on a night walk through the property, allowing us to witness the local wildlife up close. We were the first tourists on the island after Cyclone Jasper, and on the night of our stay, heavy rainfall caused the ferry service to shut down, stranding us. Despite these challenges, Sally and Steve were incredibly helpful. They used all their contacts to ensure we could leave the island and catch our flight the next morning. They organised an emergency evacuation boat during high tide and heavy rain, showing exceptional dedication to their guests and relieving a huge stress for us. We are also so grateful to Steve, who, through Sally and Steve's network, ensured our rental car was returned and handled all necessary procedures so we wouldn't be charged for the extra five days the car was stranded due to the emergency. We definitely plan to return to experience everything the Daintree has to offer. Despite the closures and roadblocks, the location's beauty left a lasting impression on us. We can only imagine how breathtaking it must be when everything is fully operational. A heartfelt thank you to Sally and Steve for all their help, and apologies for the delay in posting this review!
