Melia Jardines Del Teide

Just got back from a lovely weeks holiday at this hotel. We were in a Junior Suite half board basis. We were not “Level” guests but did not feel we missed out on anything at all. All the staff we came across were lovely. We were there for a relaxing holiday and did not take part in the various entertainment classes available at the pool but they looked fun and not at all intrusive. I did a Latin Dance class which was excellent. It was a private lesson as I was the only one who turned up ! Other than that we relaxed by the pool and occasionally ventured down to the beach which was a 10-15 minute walk down a hill which obviously means you have to walk up a hill to get back. It didn’t bother us but it may be a problem if you have mobility issues. The food was amazing ! Everything you could wish for at breakfast and the same at dinner with a choice of various meats and fish cooked by the chef while you wait. My partner enjoyed a steak on several occasions, I don’t eat meat but there were so many other options too. It was a perfect holiday and we were sad to leave.

We came here for a week’s holiday. I can’t fault a thing, the weather has been perfect and the hotel staff have been incredible. They couldn’t do enough for us, especially Jose, Beatriz and Niccolo at the pool bar and Angelica in the restaurant. The entertainment team was incredible too Ropi was very friendly and got everyone involved. When we arrived we were helped by George who was excellent and got us settled in. Will definitely be back.

This is the second visit to the hotel and we returned this year as we were so impressed with last year. The hotel and hotel grounds are lovely and our room was large and roomy. Our main reason for returning was the excellent food choices in the main restaurant and this did not disappoint. The salad bar is fantastic with some wonderful choices. We also loved the fresh grill counter and the excellent pasta dishes available. My husband needs gluten-free and there were some great choices for him. Entertainment was excellent. The animation team worked really hard and were really engaging and friendly. They were great at getting people up to dance and creating a wonderful atmosphere in the evenings. The acts we saw were a really good quality - the rock band in particular was fantastic and we loved the acrobats too. Slight negatives (and mentioning these as they are easily fixed) - drinks service (especially at evening meal) was mixed. If we didn't get offered a drink immediately there were significant delays in getting anyone's attention. Efforts went to setting up the table for the next person instead. Same with coffee at breakfast. I really appreciated having a pot of coffee but again often had to get up and ask for one. When asked, staff reacted immediately. My final comment was on the grill counter. We often had to wait for someone to notice us (we could clearly see the chef so I am sure they could see us!). It caused a bit of chaos at the counter as people didn't know whether they were next. Chef's seemed to be multi-tasking too much. Table service in the bar was also a little mixed - often my husband had to go the bar to get drinks. Otherwise, we loved everything. The person delivering and collecting luggage was particularly helpful and friendly and the use of a courtesy room before leaving the hotel was really welcome. Thank you.
