Retro Inn at Mesa Verde

Very good experience staying at the Retro Inn. Great selection of breakfast and friendly staff. The motel gives you a vibe of the 1970s, which was very cool. And they also have ping pong table, chess set, and many more. Highly recommended

We were on the road just winging it and found this adorable place had a vacancy as we were later in the evening. Room was comfortable, clean and the rate was very reasonable. The little breakfast in the morning was clean and several choices, even for someone like me who doesn't eat cereal. The young staff member was very personable and helpful. I love that it is not a chain, owned by a family who I found out has several hotels in Moab as well. I admit, we are suckers for retro items, so we enjoyed the theme as well.

We stayed here 2 nights to visit Mesa Verde etc. Apart from being conveniently located, it's an unusual venue. All the rooms are identified by films or TV series, with themed decor. We had 'I love Lucy', which I used to watch as a kid! Breakfast was prepacked stuff, but a wider range than sometimes you get. Never got to try out the games room! The motel is on a road junction, but our room was one of those shielded from noise by the main block.

Wonderful concept, made an old motel into something new and original. Some of the features that stood out: very clean, excellent water pressure, comfy bed with soft sheets and good pillows, large rooms, and tasty breakfast with large variety in a cute diner style area. We didn’t get the opportunity to take advantage of the game room, but we saw kids playing ping pong on the lawn as we were leaving. Would 100% stay here again if ever back in Cortez.

This is really a delightful place to stay. On an extended road trip after 9 days of decent but indistinguishable corporate hotels, the Retro Inn was a refreshing change. They strike a great balance between comfort/convenience and vintage charm. Actual keys for the rooms, period themed rooms and common areas, and a general feel of fun. Friendly, helpful staff, well organized and spotless. Nice breakfast in a 50's diner feel area. The Retro definitely made our revisit list!

Cortez is a little town but the Retro Inn was a quirky but delightful find. The room I stayed in was wallpapered in a Star War theme. We enjoyed the comfortable, laid-back type of setting. The motel offers a light breakfast array and is close to the Main Street restaurants.

This is a "two stay review" so stay tuned. We booked this hotel as a halfway stop to see our kiddo in Utah. We love retro themed anything, and were more than willing to give this a try. Driving up to the motel just puts you in a peaceful mood. It is beautifully landscaped, colorful and has great "yard art" (check out their gallery). Kia was amazing with the check in and as we were towing a vintage vehicle on a trailer, she put us in a room that we could park the truck in a well observed spot. There are single car parking spots right in front of your room, but the trailer would have blocked the flow of traffic. We stayed in 1975, and it was themed for that year. One of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed in. Super comfortable bed, great tv and super clean bathroom and shower. The refrigerator and microwave were an added bonus! There was a table and chairs out front and it was a joy to sit outside and watch the world go by. They have a huge game room with a pool table, games and tv, lots of sitting areas around the lawn and a really nice laundry room. The morning breakfast was SUPER and easy to grab and go. Now, part 2. We liked it so much we booked it for the way back, but picked room 1956 as it was the Elvis room. Again, great check in with Kia, SUPER clean room, but a bit different. The bathroom was very small and there was less room to spread out than in the other room. It did have a fridge and microwave, and the bed was once again VERY comfortable. I would suggest a room towards the back if you like a bit more quiet (away from the road) and a little bit more of a private outside sitting area. We will definitely be staying there the next time we head that way!

Nice throwback to the 50's, complete with large rooms and comfortable beds. Chairs to relax in, outside every room, game room, nice gardens and even a couple of Elvis statues. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was good, pretty much what you would expect from a continental breakfast. Reasonable price as well.

This is a Cute motel with nice rooms, good breakfast and nice, friendly, helpful staff! Definitely would recommend and would stay again. We appreciated it was close to so many restaurants and shops. We were worried there might be too much road noise, but that wasn’t a problem
