Hilton Garden Inn Corpus Christi

When I booked, the page said that the ocean was “across the street.” Not so much…. The lady at the desk said that there is often confusion on that issue. Other than that, it was perfect! The staff was lovely and friendly and the facility is well cared for.

I thought the hotel and rooms were fairly clean I don’t think there are any great places in Corpus. My complaint was that there is no room service to change the sheets. Apparently you can leave the towels and linen outside your door before 10 am and the sole housekeeper may come by. I have heard of this craziness.

I arrived at this hotel and immediately encountered refurbishing work in progress. The front desk area was chaotic, with workers on the floor directly in front of thr Front Desk and it was unclear where guests should go. A woman behind the counter ignored me, leaving me confused until one of the workers directed me to the side of the counter. Surprisingly, the same woman who had been ignoring me then greeted me. I thought it was odd that she hadn't beckoned me over. The room itself was disappointing. As soon as I opened the door, I was hit by a strong moldy smell. The ceiling had large brown blotches, some of which were partially painted over. The AC unit worked but had a large rust patch on it. There was a hole in the ceiling and white unidentified splash marks on the bed frame. The bedside table was broken, and the pillows, though in clean cases, lacked protectors and were stained yellow. Due to the ongoing refurbishments I assumed the room was mistakenly given to me thinking it was completed, so i took some pictures and went back to the reception. The receptionist, "Jenny or Janine," was not interested in seeing the photos and informed me she would only move me once. Her attitude suggested that providing an acceptable room was somehow my responsibility. And she would not be inconvenienced by it. This was a work trip, so I decided to check out her "take it or leave it" offer and deal with it later. The next room was slightly better, though the pillows still lacked protectors. A quick trip to Walmart solved that issue. The receptionist could definetly benefit from additional training. I would not recommend staying here, at least not during their renovation period.

Outdated hotel & had roaches! Don’t recommend at all! For the price find a hotel that doesn’t have roaches!!! The hotel lobby is big yet not the prettiest and the whole hotel looks very outdated. When I called the front desk I was offered to move rooms or a complimentary breakfast, I refused and asked for a refund.

Have been staying at this property for 11 years--is my "Go To" for my monthly business trips to Corpus Christi. The Staff, Lounge-Restaurant, House Cleaning and Front Desk Team are outstanding. Is my absolute favorite for any trip to Corpus Christi.

Definitely not up to the Hilton name The furniture was dated. The room was so musty smelling I was glad I was only staying one night. Staff was friendly but I definitely won’t stay there again. I don’t feel like I stayed at a Hilton property

We used the room to sleep in only and ended up bringing insects home with us. We noticed them on the desk and in the bed on the morning when we were leaving ( had not spent much time in the room). We we were leaving, I mentioned it to the front desk lady and she smiled. We were told when we checked in that they don’t clean daily because of staffing issues, but we can ask for extra towels. That should have been a red flag, but I had.a non refundable paid room.I had to call and file a complaint. We have to wait 3-5 business days to hear anything back. They gave me 10000 Hilton points, but I am not sure that I will be staying in any of their hotels anytime soon after this incident. We have been washing everything repeatedly and have called an exterminator. They look like tiny ants. They were even in the keyboard of my I Pad. So gross! The room is definitely smaller and more outdated than it looks online, but I can handle that. I cannot forgive the bug issue! I definitely would not recommend the Hilton Garden Inn Corpus Christi for your stay. Too many other options in the area that are probably cleaner and big free!

Slightly below average HGI. Lobby is bright and inviting, but the hallways and rooms are a bit drab. Room was relatively clean. Like most HGIs, HVAC is a window unit that can be a bit loud and they have the continuous fan option disabled. Room facing north was rather quiet. Pillows had a bit of a musty odor. Water pressure in the shower was abysmal. Fitness center and pool were functional and ok. One of our digital keys stopped working halfway through the trip. Overall, and ok stay. Among the better options in Corpus, which isn't saying much.

This hotel is very quiet and conveniently located so that one can access the beaches, shopping, dining, and sightseeing. Although just off a major freeway, the property is located so that it is far enough back that you rarely hear or even know that there is a large volume of traffic passing. Front desk personnel were friendly and engaging, and asked how our room was etc. Some of the furnishings in the room have seen some wear and could use replacing, but the overall quality and cleanliness were both more than acceptable. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Although we were warned when booking the room, there was a charge for parking in an open lot. After State taxes, city taxes, hotel occupancy taxes, plus a "tourism fee," the addition of a parking charge (non-valet and unguarded) seemed like overkill. Add the fee to the room charge and leave the patron feeling less exploited. Overall though, we were impressed enough that we will return and stay again when visiting Corpus Christi.
