I visit Cordoba several times a year and have stayed in many of its hotels over the last decade. However, since Caseros 248 opened its doors in 2020, this is my top choice. The location is great, in the centre but in a one way side street, so, compared to many locations in the city it is comparatively quiet. Personally I like the front facing rooms on the higher floors but the back ones, which are ‘superior’ in category are quieter but also much darker. All rooms are decorated the same and are of a good size. I feel they could do with an extra chair in the larger ones, one chair is not enough. The staff are more than helpful and always try and accommodate me with my favourite room or help with an early check in if possible. And, although they speak good English they are very patient with my attempts at speaking Spanish. The restaurant on the ground floor is open all day. Lovely staff but the area is not remarkable. Breakfast is fine with all the usual buffet items available plus others to order on request and priced separately. Lunch and dinner good too. There is a lot of ground floor space much of which does not get much footfall and I wonder why they haven’t got a separate, more atmospheric bar area? My one bugbear with the hotel is the ‘ambient perfume’ that permeates the rooms. It is at times overpowering and I really do not think it is necessary. Anyway … perhaps I’m in the minority and the rest of the world love highly scented rooms! That said, this is still my favourite hotel in the city and I will definitely be back on my next trip to Cordoba. Be warned, it is a very popular choice so make sure to book in early.
