1 I just checked in to the Marriott residence Inn in 2681 James Street, Coralville, Iowa 52241, United States I have made my reservations online when I checked in the young lady, apparently stated that my credit card was denied. She apparently had the wrong credit card. I was very tired when I came in. I explained to her that she had the wrong card. I then gave her the correct card and checked in however, the staff at this hotel is not professional. I would recommend no one stay at this hotel at 2681 James Street, Coralville, Iowa 52241, United States .

We’ve stayed at many Residence Inns as Marriott Rewards Members and this one just isn’t up to par. Dingy, banged up walls, dirty hallways, and the saddest breakfast I’ve seen—nothing compared to other Residence Inns we’ve stayed at. Plus, weirdly, the shortest toilet I’ve ever seen! Not even knee height! What’s up with that?

Very nice lady at check in. Room was pretty clean and affordable. The manager Lara was super sweet and spoke with us often and asked if we needed anything which was pleasant. We requested towels and other items to the room and she brought them to us quick. We will stay again if in town.

Wonderful room, particularly for this price point, with a full kitchenette, couch, desk and comfortable bed. Only negative was a stain on the bedspread. I will look to stay here the next time I need to overnight in the Iowa City-Corallville area.

Unfortunately, I have never had such a terrible experience from a financial side. I booked directly through Marriott and prepaid for my room in September 2023. My daughter and I stayed at the hotel this month (November 2023) and I noticed I was charged for the room -- again -- for the exact amount that I previously paid in September 2023. I explained to the manager on duty that this was an error and it needed to be reversed at the time of checkout. She stated it would be taken care of. It was not and has not. I have since left 2 messages with the General Manager - no response. I have emailed Marriott about this issue. No response. As a result, I now am working with my bank to get my money back. So . . . lesson learned. HOLD ON TO YOUR WALLET folks! This hotel will take it times two.

The worst Marriott property at which I’ve ever stayed, and I’ve stayed in a lot of them! The keys/locks to the rooms don’t work properly, so I have to keep going back and forth to the lobby to have my keys reprogrammed. Two TVs in my room and neither of them works. They just stopped working inexplicably, because they worked before I left for dinner but when I came back they’re not working. So now I’m sitting here in my room writing this! The carpets are old. The cabinets are old. The bathroom desperately needs to be renovated. The hallways are beat up. The pool is not open. It’s really an awful hotel. There are a couple other hotels across the street…trust me, stay at one of those instead.

This was the last stop on a long road trip. My wife and I rolled in at 8pm, and we were warmly welcomed by a friendly young person named Max. The hotel was nice, clean and inviting. The room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was very tasty. Everything was worth the cost of the stay. Thanks again to Max for the hospitality and friendly service.

For the record, here are th issues we encountered: 1. AC does not work. 2. 2 out of 3 lights in bedroom are burnt out. 3. Sink drains slowly 4. We requested and were assured we had an accessible room and bathroom. Upon check in, we were told that someone gave our room to someone else. We were not able to use the shower as a result. 5. No tea bags in the room. 6. The faucet and handle in the shower had not been cleaned. Very disappointed. We'll stay elsewhere in the future. I sent this to the manager. They gave me 3,000 points in the loyalty program. I was t impressed

This hotel should be a slam dunk from a quality standpoint and it just isn’t. It’s a Marriott and should be held to some standards, it isn’t. The hotel has very nice employees, they are eager to please but the hotel is dirty and not being taken care of. We experienced several unpleasant problems: 1. No soap at all was offered. The bottles on the wall in shower all empty. This was trip 1 to the front desk and the guy told me they are changing the system and gave me entire bottles of the new soaps. 2. The sofa bed was not dressed and there were stains in the mattress. This was trip 2 to the front desk to get sheets, pillows and blankets. 3. There were many, many bugs in the room. I didn’t realize this as it became a problem when we were going to sleep. There were lady bugs all over the walls and ceiling, dead beetle like bugs in the carpet and dozens and dozens of bugs of all sorts in the window sill. I only noticed late at night and just wanted to get my kids to get to bed so we stayed. This hotel is not clean. I would not stay here again.
