The hotel meets expectations, housekeeping is the what makes the hotel. They without fail always are polite, helpful, & don’t have preferences to who they cater to. They seem to all be on the same page as in what needs to be done. The front desk is very helpful, courteous, & friendly. The only bad part is the hotel is pet-friendly for the entire hotel. I would have been impressed or please if there was at least one floor for people that like me are not pet-friendly.

Worst experience ever. Hotel refused to honor our reservation and left us stranded. Avoid at all costs. My wife made a reservation through ******* four weeks before our arrival on October 4-7, and received confirmations from ******* including the day before and morning of arrival. Arrived at desk to check in and was received by a rude and obnoxious front desk clerk who stated we didn’t have a room, hotel was overbooked, and we needed to leave. Flew in from Pennsylvania and had no where to go as entire area was booked due to the hurricane and football game. Front desk blamed ******* claiming ******* cancelled our reservation, which ******* of course denied. Desk clerk claimed to have an email from ******* canceling the reservation. Asked to see it so we could show *******. Desk clerk then claimed she didn’t have access to it as it went to manager. We asked to speak to the manager, who was of course not available. ******* was on the phone with us while we were still in the lobby, denying any cancellation took place. End result…this sorry excuse for a hotel had no problem stranding us with no where to go and zero offer of any assistance. Terrible experience. Don’t book here if you expect your reservation to be honored By the way, I am 62 years old, and have stayed at this and other Tru locations numerous times. My wife is a Hilton honors member. I do not expect or appreciate such shabby treatment from a hotel.

Shout out to Deshon (Night Auditor) for excellent guest service following a bad experience at a different hotel across town. I called just after 1am to see if they still had a room available and Deshon confirmed he still had availability. 15 minutes later, I received a friendly and warm greeting upon arrival. Deshon efficiently checked me in and even reached out via text message a fee minutes later to make sure that my room was clean and everything met my expectations. Room was clean and in good shape, but the five star review really goes to Deshon for the great service and follow up after my arrival to make sure I was satisfied after a bad experience at another hotel across town.

Lisa, Alexis and Nate were fantastic! We have a large group and they took good care of us. Super clean hotel and accommodations. Was a great experience. The gym has stocked towels and a water bottle filled with an ice machine. House keeping was spot on and refreshed towels and such daily. Great experience

We tried to check in on our phone but were advised to see the front desk upon arrival. Digital keys not working got keys, then our credit card was not working on computer, front desk personnel had no idea where we could eat dinner, then we found out why, no dinner options nearby. Room was ok. Clean. Next morning went down for coffee. Empty…. Looked around for an employee none within sight went to pantry and found 2 employees talking and asked for some coffee. They appeared annoyed and said “ we are getting it” Next I went to the breakfast area and the eggs were empty and sausage was grey. By then 3 employees were walking around talking none seemed to care that the breakfast area needed attention. We left and went to the waffle House. We are Hilton Honors and travel often. I have never had this bad experience at any Hilton.

We stayed at the Hilton Tru Hotel one night while passing through Columbia, on our way to Wilmington, NC. About the only thing the hotel has going for it is a fairly good location. The rate we paid was about $150.00. This is rather cheap compared to many hotels in Columbia. Unfortunately what you get at the Tru resembles a college dorm. It is absolutely stripped down to the very basic decoration. The rooms are cold and bare of anything absolutely nonessential. For $10.00 or so more you can find other far more inviting hotels than the Tru.
