Red Roof Inn Columbia, MO

My car broke down, so I booked a king room for two nights. The hotel is right off I-70 and was prefect for where my car was being worked on, so the location was pretty good. There were a few restaurants and shops nearby, but it could be noisy at times. I was disappointed at the service as the first thing they asked for was $20 deposit and later I was accused of smoking in my room when I'm a non-smoker. The facilities were just ok, the cleanliness was passable and I was able to order food to the room. The desk offered clean towels/few amenities if needed. It's a good place if you're looking for a bed and toilet for the night, but for families looking for more I would not recommend.

We booked this hotel for Parents Weekend at Mizzou. We paid $216 for 3 nights thru *******. When we arrived they advised us that their “system was down” and they could not check us in, so we should cancel our reservation through ******* and they would swipe our card themselves at what I am sure would be a much higher rate since the cheapest hotel we could find was $189 PER NIGHT! The next guest after us received the same treatment. ******* graciously cancelled our reservation and issued us a full refund. The lobby was filthy and the buildings looked dingy and in need of maintenance. DO NOT STAY HERE!

This is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever had the displeasure of setting foot in! We had book a room weeks in advance to attend a football game at U of M. When we arrived to check in, after traveling 1,600 miles to get there, we were met with “can’t check you in because our system is down”!!! Blood ran hot and we were force to cancel the reservation, go down the street and pay four times as much for a place to stay! This place should be shut down for lack of management skills!!! Terrible, rude, and filthy!

Worse hotel ever. I have stayed here many times. But this last time was terrible. Staff rude room was very dirty. When I checked out they said they would put some of the money back on my card. They didn't went back today to have it fixed they took more money off. Will not be staying there again. I liked it before.

I’ve never seen a hotel room in that bad of condition before. Trash on the floor, diarrhea in the toilet, no trash can in the room, top lock broken, sheets/ towels looked dirty, and only cash deposit was accepted.

Room looked nothing like picture. She handed me the room key without a jacket and just announced the room number. This non-smoking room had definitely been smoked in many times! Security bolt on door was missing, 1 night stand was gone, cups on counter were not wrapped, shower had mold. The outside was pretty dirty.

I can't believe this hotel has 3 stars. That is not an accurate rating. I used to stay at Red Roof Inns all the time, but this will be my last stay at a Red Roof Inn. This hotel is creepy to say the least and is not clean-=-anywhere. The towels look as if they've been used and are haphazardly stuffed on the bathroom racks. The sheets don't look or smell clean. The garbage can outside my room looks as if it hasn't been emptied in days. There is dirty laundry and trash in the breezeways, and all the windows throughout the hotel are streaked. I strongly suspect this hotel is being used as a residence for a family rather than a hotel for the public. It's truly disgusting. There are BBQ grills outside of some of the rooms, and the whole vibe is confusing--not at all like an actual hotel. I never leave reviews, let alone bad ones, but this is the 2nd Red Roof Inn I've stayed in over the past two days, and both of them were nothing like the Red Roof Inns I used to stay at. Really shockingly degraded and just plain awful. So sorry to see this happening.

I’ve called them 11 times now trying to get help with a simple request / question. Each time I’m told they are too busy to help me. I’ve called a different times of the day. I’ve been hung up on rudely 4 of the 11 times. They are either rude, incompetent, or not properly staffed (and not even close). This is completely unacceptable.

The place is littered with trash, shady people all around lurking in the parking lot at night and there was literally someone in our room sleeping! Filthy - disgusting - gross - unsafe and against any health codes. I will report this place to the police and health department. I’m not a picky person but this was beyond disgusting.
