Cottesmore Hotel Golf & Country Club

I was there to attend a family wedding. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Gorgeous venue for a wedding, we had pre drinks served in the courtyard, then drinks and canapes after. Photographs by the lake and around the fountain. Food was really good and service was exceptional. I had a huge room with a balcony looking out onto the golf course and unusually for me I slept through until breakfast. I only had a light breakfast of poached egg on toast. Rates were very reasonable too.

I’ve been a member of Cottesmore since 2016, using the Gym, Golf, Tennis etc. However wanted to note there has actually been a big improvement in their Sunday Roasts in the restaurant now. I think it’s likely the best I’ve had in a long time. Massive plate of food and delicious. Recommend going.

I came here on a golf break and though I don’t normally do reviews I thought I would this time as my experience was such a mixed bag of very good and very bad. We played both courses. The main course was fab and quite challenging and we really enjoyed playing it. The second course was also in good condition but the first hole had a silly mickey mouse green which had such a slope it was unfair, and though my playing partners had hit good shots to the green they never found their balls as I think the severe slope had caused the balls to find the undergrowth which was situated so close to the green. Overall, the place had a real nice buzz to it and there was a lot going on with a wedding and also several groups on golf breaks. The place seemed very busy and popular. This meant the car park was rammed full even though it was a really big car park, to the extent that excess cars seemed to be using the practice ground. The accommodation was excellent with a large comfortable and clean room, and the rooms were situated around a very pretty courtyard. Our evening meal was also excellent and beautifully presented. The bar was busy and noisy but that was fine and we got served efficiently. The staff were mostly young and very pleasant. Shout out to the older lady Helen though who worked so hard and seemed to be there all day and evening. Basically, all the staff we interacted with were very nice. Breakfast was a contrast to the evening meal as it was so disorganised. We had to ask several times for glasses and cups. Other tables had their food order taken before us even though they had been sat down at least 10 minutes after us. I asked if there was decaf coffee in the machine and was told yes, but there wasn’t. Whereas the evening meal had been so good, breakfast was disappointing. Staff seemed to be working both in the restaurant and serving in the bar so maybe they were a bit understaffed that particular morning. Overall I did enjoy my stay and would love to have given this place 5 stars but the main thing that really let it down for me was the toilets downstairs. For such a big place and bearing in mind how busy it was, out of three toilets one was locked and out of use, one had some sort of leak coming from somewhere as there was a large pool of water (hopefully water) on the floor of the cubicle, and the other one wouldn’t flush properly. The cubicles were really tiny so it was hard to get in and out, especially when you're trying to avoid putting your foot in a puddle. On one visit, there was loo paper all over the floor – maybe to try and absorb the water. I thought it was really grim in there and as it was the same on both days I’m not even sure a cleaner had been near them. I can’t imagine the wedding guests would have been too impressed, although I think there may have been some other toilets elsewhere on the premises, the signs directed us to the grim ones downstairs. I would definitely come here again but maybe next time seek out the altern

Came for a wedding and stayed overnight. The venue is beautiful. The decorations for the weddings so lovely with drinks and canapés outside in the courtyard. The room was so nice and we had a little table and chairs outside. Also they had a fan in the room which was great as the day of the wedding was boiling. Good prices and we went to the swimming pool and spa before breakfast on the last day

Kindly let the receptionist know of her rude behavior of being ****** AND DISCRIMINATIVE. Once we arrived she asked my sis fam their BRP, and why did they stay at this hotel, why they brought so many suitcases, she was VERY SUSPICIOUS OF US. I let you know lady, my sis fam are leaving to dubai thats why they checked in at the place where YOUR WORK for 2 days before their departure CAUSE they already LEFT their house and they want to stay at A DECENT HOTEL. Why do you think ASIAN couldnt affort at your place .

Came here on a 1 night special with 2 rounds of golf,b and b and lunch instead of dinner.We had room 19 which wasnt has nice as room 5 that we stayed in last time because there was no table and chairs outside the back of our room because we was on the 2nd floor this time.Great golf course and the breakfast was really nice.Also we got into our rooms before our tee time which was a really big help.A big thank you to the lady on reception.2 gripes though.Our lunch,the 2nd course,came out 25 minutes before our tee time.Also when we teed off,the groups behind, which was 8 groups of 2s virtually said I HOPE YOU AINT SLOW,because they was all scratch players.To say it put us off and gave us all the right hump was a understatement.Not great organisation from the Cottesmore team to say the least.

I have just had my wedding at Cottesmore on 26th April, and had the best day ever! Jackie the events planner was so friendly and helpful from day one showing me round the venue, right up to calming me down before the aisle, and touching base with me the next day! The reception were super helpful when I needed a few small errands and very efficient, the honeymoon suite was just stunning, the venue were super helpful allowing me to set up the night before, and the staff on the day literally made the day. Kyle and the senior food and beverage man (so sorry I've forgotten his name) were absolutely incredible! They had us in fits of laughs on our buggy ride, entertained our guests in the evening and really got Involved, and helped me rhe next day pack things up. I think Kyle is pretty new and he will go very far all my guests loved him! So personable. Really highly recommend this hotel for a wedding, and will be coming back for a night stay to make use of the pool.

I held my 60th Birthday Party at Cottesmore on 2 March and have nothing but praise from start of the process to the time the lights went on at the end of the evening. The booking staff were friendly and helpful. The venue is so lovely, with all of my guests commenting on the vibe and the whole atmosphere. We had a lovely buffet and an amazing cake- thank you Will and Luke! The bar staff on the night were amazing and a real credit to the business, being friendly, courteous and very professional. They were also very fun and very cheerful and smiley!!! Huge thanks to Kyle, Anya, Isabelle, Em , Olivia, Katy & Ben. So, a fabulous party, enjoyed by all!! Would highly recommend!!

My partner and I along with friends visited Cottesmore Hotal Golf and Country Club for a Sunday evening meal. We were totally amazed at not only the quality of food but also the friendly service. We had a 3 course meal and I can honestly say that this was easily one of, if not the best, meal we have had in a while. I cannot recommend this place enough! Such a warm and welcoming experience! A huge thank you!
