Stunning building lovely rooms.breakfast excellent. Bowland brewery is fabulous ,so is the food .Food hall very nice.only problem, there was a wedding in the Bistro below ,which was VERY loud.we was informed but didn't realise it would be that noisy. Also pub and the Emporium close at 9pm,so was in room listening to the noise. Would go again definitely, but would enquire before we book to make sure there was no party.

Attended a wedding with family and friends. Staff were accommodating & helpful but food was so disappointing. Unbelievably dry and tasteless. Hotel rooms were ok, comfortable & plenty of room. Breakfast on both days was the nicest meal during our stay. Both wedding breakfast buffet & evening buffet were less than average. The hotel really need to up their game on food as guests were left hungry. There was so little variety and it was taken away so fast. You were told when selecting from the wedding breakfast meal that you were only allowed one of each. This gave vegetarians even less choice than everyone else. Hotel is a beautiful looking venue and very photogenic but definitely room for improvement.

Poor service ! Management need to take care of the consumers when things go wrong ! Greedy hotel as it is only interested in money and not a good service ! Do not stay here !! Even restaurant failed in providing a good service , everything was rush rush and consumers are ignored.

Although the hotel was a little dusty and grubby, operationally, things were reasonably acceptable. The staff on the other hand, were without exception, somewhat obstructive, unfriendly, and appeared to be, for the most part, in a mid-depressive episode. Particularly the middle aged woman on reception, to whom everything seemed to be a high exercise in effort, and far too much trouble for her. An ok place, although badly let down by particularly bad hospitality.

Lovely large family room - comprising two rooms and bathroom- in the old part of the mill (room 38). Loads of space for 5 of us, one on a v solid comfy fold out bed. Tea and coffee in room and lovely lemony Occitaine toiletries. Super location, very creative use of all the buildings. Friendly helpful staff on reception. Only foible was the (excellent) shower not having a door, resulting in a v soggy towel mat and floor.

Well if I was reviewing the friendliness of the Staff and the cleanliness of the rooms it would have been a certain 5 star. However there are just a few little touches needed. There was one chair in the double room we were in and it was so, so uncomfortable it wasn't good for sitting on. Oh and there was plenty of room for two chairs. The Other thing is we picked the hottest week of the year to go and in the room there is typed note advising to open the window as the midges from the nearby river will likely come in especially if there is a light on. Now I know they cant do anything about the river but there was no Air Con and when we asked if there was any fans for the room. The lovely Lady on reception said they were all out🤷🏻. We went b&b and the breakfast was first class and the evening meal we had in the Adjoining Pub(owned by the same people) was excellent as well. Car parking can be a bit tricky as the Hotel don't own it and its first come first served. There is street parking but you have to go looking for it. Now this does seem to be a little bit of a negative review, but nothing could be further from the truth because we cant wait to go back and if I could have given a 4.8 star rating I would have. For me it just needs a couple of minor tweaks to be a Solid 5.

Stayed for 2 nights and no room service, at £230.0 I would have expected the bed to be remade. Breakfast was extra £12.50 each and tea coffee even extra. There was a child plonking on the piano and was seriously annoying. Breakfast was not worth the money. The only saving grace was the toiletries. Not worth the money.

Initial impressions were good. Tasteful conversion of a old mill. Room was a generous size with everything we needed although heating was not on when we arrived in February! It warmed up but we expected better. Room was clean although bin had not been emptied. Bed was large and comfortable. Beer hall was very good..imaginatvely converted with pub style food of a reasonable standard. Breakfast next day was very poor. We ate downstairs in the Bistro. Fruit salad was mediocre, no natural yogort just sweetened versions, full breakfast had clearly been sitting around for a long time resulting in dry, luke warm food. Coffee was luke warm and eggs benedict portion was tiny. We would visit the beer hall again but find somewhere much better to stay particularly at the price.

Came on a 2 night winter break offer, where we were given £25 per person evening meal voucher to spend on 1st night. We have visited before so new what to expect & because standard rooms are a bit small and sparse on furniture, we decided to spend a little more & upgrade to what was advertised as a superior room. Big mistake, 🤔 the room itself may have been slightly bigger, definitely more furniture because there was a wardrobe, but still only 1 chair, but to add insult to injury on what was possibly the coldest 2 nights of Winter so far we had no heating. Both radiators in the room + towel rail in the bathroom didn't work. On 1st night staff were unable to get heating working & we were told Hotel was full!!! Not sure about that. So they provided a small portable electric radiator hardly sufficient to heat the room & bathroom. Next day we had to complain again because staff hadn't notified the new staff to our situation. We were told then that a plumber would be coming out to sort it, but that never happened, we were not offered another room & so had to spend a second night in our superior room. To say we were disappointed is an understatement & if it hadn't been a pre payment deal I would have refused to pay. I have since contacted the hotel management to complain but after a week have still not had a response. Don't think they're interested. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place...sadly going down hill fast
