Hampton Inn Clinton

Throughout years of road tripping and hotel stays I have come to respect the consistency and quality of Hampton Inn hotels. To start with the positives: The hotel had been recently refreshed (hallways, lobby spaces, rooms), and the employees were professional and friendly, especially Jackie. Hilton Honors members like ourselves got our water(s) and snack. Rooms were relatively clean and lots of amenities (pool and exercise center) are available. The negatives: The room had a "earthy" smell and was musty; it seemed as if the AC unit couldn't keep up. The shower doors were incredibly difficult to move; an odd critique, but one worth mentioning due to how oddly hard it was. The breakfast was meager in comparison to other Hampton properties and the milk cartons were clearly spoiled. Cleanliness could use a tad bit of work as well. Overall, this property is probably one of the nicest in town, and while we don't encounter any huge problems during our stay, it didn't fully live up to the Hampton standards that we were used too.

The room was clean other than getting this hotel because it was closest to the hospital where I was visiting someone in critical care and called to see if I could receive a late checkout and what my circumstances were and they said oh no sorry we’re all out of late checkouts today … extremely unprofessional and unaccommodating. Do not recommend staying here nor will I let my family or company stay at these establishments.

Was disappointed that the pool was closed for maintenance with no warning or explanation. Was pricey for the inability to use the pool. It was a friends getaway and we had to go find alternatives rather than being able to use the pool. The hotel had a musty odor to it and there were tiny black bugs in the bathroom (I think this has to do with unregulated moisture). The beds were comfy, the rooms were clean despite the bathroom bugs, and the breakfast was decent for such a small hotel. Easy to get in and out of and ample parking.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The property - includeing the rooms - is very clean. Beds are comfortable and loved the regular size comfortable pillows. Staff are courteous and helpful! Breakfast is more than enough and very good. For those interested in the ******, it is within walking distance from the hotel. Highly recommend this location.

The room was dirty, bathroom had damage, toilet paper holder was not attached to wall and bathroom was not cleaned. Shower and toilet had hair all over them. Carpet had some sort of skid marks on it. Trying to book the room was next to impossible using the system in place. I will not be staying there again. This was a nice hotel but service seems to have fallen off the cliff.

As a frequent traveler, sometimes you get distracted and forget things. This recently happened to me at the Hampton Inn, Clinton IA when I left some shirts and pants in the room after check-out. A front desk staff member named Amy went above and beyond in calling me on my mobile phone and notifying me that I forgot them. After speaking with her, she arranged to send them to my home via UPS and apologized for the cost that I would have to incur for having them sent. I was so happy she took the time to track me down and arrange for the shipment. I wish I could give the property 6-stars for the service they provided.

We are an Australian couple. We spent 5 nights here. Our stay was comfortable with an easy check-in. Thank you to the housekeeping staff who were always helpful and a huge thanks to Aaron the gentleman at the front desk who was extremely helpful and professional and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable.

There were migratory locusts in my room. When I asked the manger to switch rooms he said they were booked in a rude manner and left without further action. He would not give me a refund when I asked to leave due to poor services. He is inconsiderate towards guests and unskilled in this profession.
