Le Clervaux Boutique Hotel & Spa

We booked a normal suite, but during Check in there seemed to be a problem, we have been asked if we have booked a "suite historique" (which we didnt) and the receptionist already indicated it might not be ideal. But as it seemed for whatever reason we had been assigned a suite historique (room 311) although we did not book one. The room was under the roof, so me and my pregnant wife had to watch out for our heads because we are tall people. It was also very old fashioned. When I went back to the reception fortunately a solution could be found as there was another available room in the other building (hotel was officially fully booked). It cost us 15 Euros more than in our initial reservation, in my opinion the hotel management could have just asked us the same price as a commercial gesture (the new room was only available at 16:30) due to the inconvenience caused. We were offered a voucher for a drink at the bar though and the staff was friendly and helpful. The new room (Suite Number 12) was perfect, clean spacious and nicely equipped. Only the bed mattrass should be replaced soon in my opinion (for me it was too soft, as i have back problems i am a bit sensible though). We had booked half pension, the dinner was very nice, also the location. Only (slight) disappointment was that we had to not only pay for our drinks but also a complementary amount because appearantly the price of the menu which we booked in advance had changed in the meantime. I thought that was a bit unusual. I would come back though but i would definitely insist on not booking a "suite historique" in order to avoid any misunderstandings. The suite historique 311 is in my opinion not worth being called a "suite".

Bad service and no bed for our child as promissed So disappointed with the stay. Long in-check and service almost non-existing. I had to ask the staff in the desk several times for the bed for our little child which I had booket with the stay AND double-checked the day before that I was sure to have a bed for our child!! It was confirmed in e mail by the hotel! First time I asked for the bed they looked confused. I was told it would be in our room later. By dinnertime it still wasn’t and I asked again in service. (They did not give us any follow up..) now there was no bed! We have a little child who has to sleep!! But the staff promised to find out something for us. We would expect to a 4 star hotel that we would hear from the staff again so we knew what to do. But they seemed to have forgotten about us. The hours went by and almost 3 hours!!! Later when we all had gone into bed trying to sleep somehow the staff came with a bed!! Some of it. We had to wait again for the last bit of it and by 11 in the evening!!! Way past bedtime for our child we could go to sleep. So bad with no information or follow up!!
