If you are sensitive to strong deodorizer scents DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. After trying to sleep for a couple hours, I went to the front desk to ask if there might be a room that didn't have that horrible strong smell, but the man at the desk said they all smell the same. I went outside to breathe in some fresh air and to try to decide if I should sleep in my car. I decided that that would not be safe, so I tried to tough it out. I put the sheet over my nose and finally at 4:30 am I packed up and checked out. The man asked if I got any sleep and I said no, but I did get a huge headache and nausea. I asked for a bottle of water and he said there are some for sale in the other room. Wow. Such great customer service. I have never experienced anything like this at any other BW and I have stayed at BWs all across the US. I now do not trust the brand and will read all reviews before selecting another BW, or I might just switch to Fairfield Inns.

This venue is very clean and the location is very convenient. The staff is courteous and helpful. The onsite restaurant is very good and has a varied menu. I had a specific room request and that was not a problem. I was there for a conference and our experience got a favorable rating from our members.

Do not stay in the "tunnel" building. Elderly people cannot do the hike nor the 3 flights of steps. Also, burritos for breakfast - most elderly do not eat. Nothing worse than having to stop elsewhere for breakfast. The tunnel building they put us in was old and a hike from the front desk. My parents are elderly, and this was no picnic.

You won't regret staying at this Best Western! It has anything you could want for a pleasant stay, whether it's just one night or a week long vacation! With Bennigan's so close you don't need to worry about driving "tired" to find something substantial to eat before you settle in to sleep! We drove from a Days Inn in Ankeny that was so AWFUL we couldn't sleep there another night! Arriving at Best Western was like coming home!

Very clean hotel and the continental breakfast was wonderful! It offered warm breakfast and cereal, muffins, hard boiled eggs, etc! The pool was clean and was being used while we stayed there. Front desk provided additional shampoo and lotion as needed. Bed and pillows were very comfortable! I would definitely stay again. Close to downtown and beautiful Clear Lake and also close to Mason City which has many department stores, places to eat! Also, this is the sight for the plan crash of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and Big Bopper, so something cool to go visit., and take in a little history!

It was a good experience, and a great value. The room was clean and attention to details. They have the amenities to help you stay on site after a long day. Check in was fast and friendly staff.

We stayed at the Best Western for a family trip over the 4th. We stayed in the out building of the hotel. We were awoken in the night to a train blasting their horn nearby. Unfortunately, in the morning we found a dead cockroach in the bedding shortly before we checked out. When my husband reported the issue at check out- the staff seemed unsurprised and made a joke about it. We were not offered any sort of discount or refund. For the price of the room, I would have expected a roach free stay.

While this motel is a bit old, it’s been remolded. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The rooms aren’t large, but have everything you need.

Our son and daughter-in-law had their wedding reception at the Clear Lake Best Western. The staff helped us with anything we needed. The event coordinator (Mandy❤️) kept us informed and was very patient and organized. The head chef, Michael, was so talented and hard working and definitely knows his way around a kitchen. Amazing man with a ton of talent ! The chicken and spaghetti were so delicious! Kudos to his kitchen staff. Sorry I don’t know all your names. Housekeeping, bartenders, support staff….all top notch and made our event run so smoothly. Communication was great. Rehearsal dinner, wedding meal, and breakfast/gift opening the next morning…all food and set up with cloth napkins, beautiful place settings, etc. just all top rated. The event coordinator even turned on all our decorative lights(there were a lot of them!) right before we arrived from the wedding. The staff went beyond to make the day/weekend special.
