I was here for 2 nights for business. I was not a fan of no bath in the room, but tried to make the best of it. Several issues really stand out: 1) I did not get good sleep because the building is just loud! With no hall carpets and really high ceilings, you can hear people talking plainly in rooms across the hall. Late night discussions in the hall reverberate. I was woken up multiple times after 11pm because the room above me had creaky floors and people were walking around. 2) Perhaps the following issues are result of the staffing crunch but it definitely lessened the experience. Paper towels out in the bathrooms near meeting rooms. Sinks clogged in the communal baths near my room (really gross). They ran out of key cards when I checked in - they were walking people to their rooms so you could put your stuff in, but then you couldn't get back in if you left. Or get into the bathroom. 3) Initial setup for for my company's business meeting had us literally touching elbows for a 2 day mtg. Midday, the facilitators got another table so that we could all feel a little bit more human and and be able to pay attention to the meeting. If you are excited about the experience of staying at a historical property, this is a great place because of the music venues, the various eating venues, and just the sense of fun that is intended at this place. But for a business meeting, it's not good. I am going to my 2nd day of meetings with only 5 hours of sleep.
Me and my wife spent 1 night at holiday inn express Portland east/ troutdale. It was our 6yr wedding anniversary and upon checking in we met CARLOS the receptionist there. CARLOS was very pleasant, friendly, and outgoing we mentioned to CARLOS that it was our 6yr wedding anniversary. CARLOS upgraded us to a bigger room with a king size bed and couch with a refrigerator and microwave, we were very pleased with the accommodations. CARLOS went above and beyond the call of his duty as a front desk receptionist, CARLOS deserves an increase in pay for his quick response in making us feeling at home. We will definitely come back to stay here again, kuddos to you CARLOS. The indoor pool and whirlpool was awesome as well as the complimentary breakfast in the morning. I love the quick online check out service as well. Again we will definitely be back thanks to the friendly staff at Holiday Inn Express Portland East/troutdale, Godbless you all๐๐ฝ๐๐๐ฝ
This was nice relatively new hotel. The staff was friendly and they served breakfast. The rooms were comfortable. The first night was pretty quiet but the second night there were a lot more people and we heard doors slamming all hours. We heard there was a family reunion going on. It was a perfect location to go to the on and off Waterfall Trolley in Corbett. Troutdale is a cute little town with good restaurants. I would stay there again.

This is a very nice place. We stayed in room 252 and it was very clean. The room had what we needed and the price was right. Bed was comfortable, flat screen tv. Great, modern looking bathroom that was stocked nicely. This is a pet friendly motel and at this price, Wow!!! There is an outdoor pool which was nice and clean. Staff was super friendly and helpful. So if your a searcher wanting to have a nice clean room that you can bring your four legged friends you found it. By the way we are NONsmokers and this room was perfect...... NO smoke smell ... So for those that complained about the smell. Get in or closer to your room. They have (no smoking with in 10 feet of building) signs in place. Hope this helps, and enjoy, we sure did.
My wife and I stayed at the Best Western (BW) Plus Cascade property on the days prior to and after our daughter's weekend wedding because of the proximity to the wedding venue (a nearby well-known historic property that begins with โMโ). We found the BW property to be bright, new and exceptionally clean. The complementary breakfast had an excellent variety of hot & cold items and several coffee selections. We found the staff to be friendly, helpful and professional. We actually were going to stay at an airport Marriott property but when I discovered that their jacuzzi and pool were closed I switched my reservation to this BW. Additionally, during the wedding weekend we stayed 2 nights at the wedding venue to be on-site. However, we found the room at the historic property to be quite overpriced and a poor value since it was dismal, and lacking in routine cleanliness, This BW property was a pleasant surprise and a better value overall!
No elevator so we had to drag our luggage up the stairs. It was pretty noisy outside. Room was spacious and they had toiletries in the shower and lots of hot water. Decent mattress but it felt like the sheets didn't come all the way up. I didn't make notes on the availability of plugs so that must have been ok.
You can tell that once upon a time this was a nice place. Large clean lobby, nice reception desk. But it ended there. One elevator was out of service, and by the condition of the signs it had been that way for awhile. I had to use my key card to operate the other elevator, elevator, and it was so difficult to use I finally took the stairs. The carpets in the hallway were torn and wrinkled, and way past their useful life. The corridors were dimly lit and depressing. I booked a single queen which was tiny, tiny! The TV had a big vertical line in it, an obviously malfunction. Breakfast room was nice and spacious, and obviously used to be an actual restaurant. Breakfast choices were DIY waffles or cereal. This is not a place I would stay in again, and would not recommend it.
This Best Western has everything you need and is centrally located right on the Columbia river. The bathrooms are a little small. But otherwise, this hotel is perfect! When coming back to the area, this is my number 1 hotel to stay at and I will recommend it to anyone coming to the area. Highly recommended!
We drove 8+ hours from California and got to the motel at 2 am, no one at the desk , we rang the bell, after waiting we tried calling the front desk the phone rang while we stood there. We knocked on employee room door that was in the lobby (we could hear a TV on) manager came out yelling for disturbing her, saying we needed to wait for their employee while trying to check in they were rude and I was already beyond upset with the lack of standards they uphold themselves with. I asked for their info and manager infos to file a complaint because of that they refused us service and threaten to call the cops if we didnt leave. Worst service ever horrible employees and management. Caucasian female Associate and assuming th manager was the middle aged Hispanic female . They were not doing their jobs for one . Then secondly the lack of respect from these grown women would make any mother embarrassed to claim these two pathetic ladies. Pretty much we booked and room drove 8 hrs tried to check in and no one was there to check us in for over 15 mins. Then the associate and manager got upset with me because I bothered the manager who was off the clock but had her kid at the hotel in employee motel room. After kicking us out we had to drive another 45 mins back to Portland to stay at a red lion All in all worst customer service experience ever! They should be ashamed but because they gave no repercussions they dont give a hoot about what hassle they caused us!
