Pictures do not do the hotel justice, it looked much better when we visited. Room Good size room with a balcony on floor 4, with partial sea view and view over town, it was so nice to be able to have the door open to allow fresh air in. King size bed, table with two chairs, chair and foot stool. Fridge and air con. Room is missing a safe. Room was very clean and shower over bath worked well. Guest lounge (next to pool) Tea/ coffee and hot chocolate complimentary. Sweets machine (cost) sofa and tables. Breakfast Not included in the cost of the room so we did not try ordering a delivery to our room provided by a nearby restaurant, especially as there are so many restaurants near by. Expensive choices offered for delivery. Location In town with bars/ restaurants and shops on the doorstep. No need to drive if you don’t want to. Car park Plenty of parking spaces, $20 a night. Wi-Fi Good and free Staff Very welcoming and friendly. They can provide some coupons to local restaurants.
Located in La Jolla (Village of La Jolla), Scripps Inn La Jolla Cove is within a 10-minute drive of Mission Bay and La Jolla Cove. This beach hotel is 4.4 mi (7.1 km) from Mission Beach and 11.1 mi (17.9 km) from Hotel Circle.
Take in the views from a terrace and make use of amenities such as complimentary wireless internet access and concierge services.
Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Make yourself at home in one of the 14 air-conditioned rooms featuring refrigerators and flat-screen televisions. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and cable programming is available for your entertainment. Private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations feature designer toiletries and hair dryers. Conveniences include safes and microwaves, and housekeeping is provided on a limited basis.
The snacks and refrigerator in the suite are empty, and I call every day to ask for water. No one picks up the busy food delivery service on weekends, or takeaway is fast. The point is that it is completely different from the room in the picture. It is recommended to look at the official website. Anyway, it is uncomfortable to live in. The hotel is nice, clean and tidy, but a little old, similar to many hotels in the United States. It's very cold when the air conditioner is turned on, and it blows cold air directly onto the bed. If it's not turned on, it will be stuffy. But upgraded to the highest floor, thank you hotel!
This hotel is located on the side of lajolla cove , but the building facilities are a bit old, the staff's service is not good, the check-in time is 4 pm, but the room is cleaned with few staff, even if it is urged, it will not be completed until 3 o'clock. But the departure time is 11 am. Most importantly, if you are carrying a larger suitcase and are not arranged in a room in the small building below, the distance to mention the suitcase to the room is very long, and 90% are steps, not even ramps. The hotel has several small buildings, the entrance and exit signs are unclear, and the room is in different directions. Take the large suitcase, before arriving at the room, I was very uncomfortable, and the girl collapsed. The suite room is quite big and can be simply cooked. But the facilities are a bit old, the air conditioning system is very noisy, the sound insulation is poor upstairs and downstairs, and the carpet is dirty. Towels, bedding is not bad (this may catch up with the new period) have a small pool, anyway, I have no requirements for public facilities. The price is between 350 and 550 dollars, some are not worth it. Anyway, don't choose a large suitcase. The wheel is on the steps and it is directly bad. There are fewer hotels on Trip.com in this area, but there are actually many small hotels to choose from. It is recommended to check several websites.
Residence The location is convenient to La Jolla sites we wanted you to see and easy I-5 access to downtown San Diego. It’s a little complex of separate buildings, each with 2 floors. We had a ground floor suite, nice sitting area, comfortable king sized bed, good size kitchen area, plenty of closet space, lots of lamps and outlets for our devices, large bathroom counter with a toilet, tub shower combo all in a very small space. It just seems like the property is outdated and needs updating. Plants overgrown, paint peeling, sidewalks uneven, furniture old, etc. They made up our room every day and emptied the trash. There were some kids above us that ran around from 7 to 9 PM every night but got quiet after that. The parking was limited and very tight, but we found spot near our door every evening. We took advantage of the breakfast buffet each morning before heading out. It had the usual hot foods and cold cereal. They had waffles one day, maybe just the weekend.
Stayed for five nights for a business trip. I will admit, due to its proximity to the Torrey Pines Golf Course I expected the hotel to be fancier than it was. It wasn't fancy, but it was a very solid, nice hotel in a great location! When I say ”great location” I am referring to it being right on the golf course, which is right on the ocean! The grounds are beautiful and serene. Can't be beat! If you are looking for a location that is walkable to a lot of restaurants and things to do, this is not your place. I don't golf, so can't speak to that side of things. I do enjoy walks in nature, and to that end, the hotel's proximity to Torrey Pines State Park is amazing. It was less than a mile walk to the entrance to the park trails. I was there for work so wish I had more time to explore, but just the little bit I did was refreshing. The trails are well-marked, and the front desk will give you a printed map if you ask. One minor shoulder shrug came from the fitness center. It's quite small for the size of the hotel. Three treadmills, two of which were out of order, four ellipticals, and two bikes. There was a variety of free weights and one multi-machine as well. No water cooler. I was there for a conference that included a lot of active-duty military, so you can imagine that space was at a premium in the mornings. I would love to see an upgraded facility that takes advantage of the views! I didn't use the restaurant, but the lunch and cocktail hour the conference had catered was very good. There is a coffee shop in the lobby that brews Starbucks drinks and has a variety of pastries and bottled drinks, as well. My room was quite large and had everything I needed. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. Shower was large, water pressure good, and the bathroom was definitely larger than most hotel baths.
Been coming here for 30 years and love the location, hotel service, beach and city of LaJolla. The 1 block to walk to the beach is so nice and how amazing to see the wonderful sight of the gorgeous Windansea beach right there. Beautiful homes in a great neighborhood with joggers, dog walkers, and sunbathers.
No disappointment there... we weren't after a luxurious place, but something comfortable, clean and Located at walking distance to the beach. Nice pool and hot tub. Free parking and great breakfast. Clean rooms with comfortable beds. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. The beach only 10mn walk was perfect.
We loved this hotel. Our room was very comfortable and very quiet. The staff was helpful and it was easy to have them valet our car. We got it promptly each time we called for it. The hotel's location is perfect: we walked all over the area where there are many shops & restaurants. Also close to the beach and the terrific Museum of Contemporary Art which is huge and a gem. We would happily stay there again.
