I travel extensively for business and stay in many hotels. This Residence Inn was exceptional. Matt and all the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a room on the third floor. It was very clean and quiet and it had a fireplace!!! That made the room very cozy. The hotel is convenient to town and a number of amazing restaurants and is close to the airport. Ft. Wayne is a beautiful city, especially in early spring with all the flowering trees, tulips, daffodils and lovely parks.

Pros: - Proximity to walking trails. - Room was clean. - Liked the setup of shampoo/conditioner/shower gel bottles attached to the shower wall. - Bed and pillows were comfortable. - Plenty of power outlets. Cons: - Hotel wifi did not work in the meeting room. This was somewhat disruptive to our conference. Another attendee reported that the wifi did not work in their room. (The wifi did work in my room.) - I also got minimal, intermittent cell reception in the meeting room (Verizon). - Minifridge in my room didn't get things very cold.
We had a tournament for my daughters basketball so I called the hotel on Tuesday the 15th 2022 to inform the hotel that I might not need Saturday night because I had a child of ours who might be released from the hospital on Saturday afternoon so I would have to drive home Saturday and not be able to spend the night. It is a 4 hr drive back so the Front Desk person (Jimmy I believe) informed me that not to worry and that I could do this on Friday when I arrived. I called the front desk and spoke to the lady working Friday late morning BEFORE I even checked in the hotel of the situation and she said No Problem and she'll see me when I came in to check in. I came there at Noon and was told the room would not be ready for 2 hrs so I left and then when I came back she informed me that I was going to be charged for Saturday even if I did not stay because it was too late to cancel. I told her my story and she said there was nothing she could do. I called the number she gave me to talk to corporate and they pretty much told me there was nothing they could do either and it was up to the manager. There was NO Manager on site and wouldn't be until Monday. She told me that a manager would call me back and NO manager ever did. I handed the front desk the keys at 11:15am on Saturday morning the 19th and checked out and drove 4 hrs home. I was then still charged for a night I DID NOT EVEN SPEND there. No calls, No care whatsoever, I was told not to cancel that Tuesday and to come in Friday and I could do it then so in case I needed that room for Saturday it would still be there for me. I was misinformed by 2 front desk workers and this is not my fault. I deserve a refund for the Saturday I was NOT there and for being taken advantage of. Worst experience of my life at a hotel the way i was and am being treated !
We used Rewards points for a King room and were very surprised to see a suite with a deep jacuzzi tub and a shared courtyard. Very comfy place to spend a night on the road to Michigan. The only problem encountered was the single elevator smelled strongly of smoking hydraulics. I hope the Otis guy shows up soon. We skipped breakfast so I can't speak to quality, but it looked nicely laid out as we left.
Beds were comfy and staff was nice. The room itself … the corners were dirty, the bathroom floor was dirty. You could literally see the mop marks and the aftermath was streaky dirt. Our socks were actually turning black that we walked around in our flip flops :-/ I wiped part of the floor from water spilling and the tissue was seriously black. I’m happy that we only stayed one night because otherwise I would have asked for a different room that was properly cleaned. Pool was super chilly (75-77 degrees per the pool water thermostat) … my 5 year old actually didn’t want to stay too long which is crazy unusual for her. Whirlpool was toasty and the bubbles worked. Breakfast was cold cereals, packets of oatmeal, cinnamon rolls and then 3 hot breakfast items (eggs, sausage and sausage gravy). My husband has business in Fort Wayne regularly. We’ve been to worse hotels in the area surely but this wasn’t our keeper and we will continue to look for a better option for future visits.
This is an exceptional property. The outside areas are well maintained and inviting. When we arrived, Lynn at the desk was very welcoming and helpful. He is a super star. Our room was very upscale...spotless and all furnishings in excellent condition. No stains or ripped sofa cushions here! Quiet overnight. We booked a king one bedroom suite. Little extras provided were great. Breakfast area well stocked and squeaky clean. We have been Hilton Honors Diamond members for many years. I thing IHG has a new customer!
Stayed for 3 nights for a reasonable price. Nice room with a kitchenette & full size fridge. Pots, dishes & coffee maker available from front desk, upon request. Smallish bathroom but was clean with sufficient towels. Nicer bed linens & comfortable bed/pillows. The coin op laundry was clean & everything worked well. No breakfast due to Covid19 but coffee & breakfast muffins/granola bars to go from front desk. Parking lot & grounds were clean & safe. Overall, a pleasant stay & good value. I would stay here again.
We spent 2 nights here for the eclipse. The staff was fantastic. A friendly welcome - and they offered us special eclipse glasses and moon pies! Breakfast was quite busy the next morning but the guy working it was great at helping and cleaning and replenishing. Whole stay was great. Room was comfortable. I’d stay here again if I am in the area!
