Find the Cheap Anreade Hotels

Very strange to find such a good hotel in one of the most depressing and rundown villages we've been to for quite some time. Everything about the hotel was very, very good.....The room, the spa, the staff and especially the restaurant both for dinner and breakfast were all way more than just OK. Clean, bright and modern. But the surrounding area seemed to be full of run down and derelict houses and what used to be hotels from the days when ' taking the waters ' was the fashion. Having said that, we enjoyed our one night stay enormously and would happily go back to stay next time we're in Resende.

I’m very happy with my experience at Douro Palace Hotel. The hotel features a very nice spa where you can unwind and relax after a day of exploration. The facilities were clean, and the pool, sauna, and steam room offered a relaxing touch. The spa's ambiance contributed to a peaceful time. The restaurant's decor, inspired by Portuguese themes, complemented the overall a**osphere. The view of Douro River and vineyards from the balcony was breathtaking. If you're into comfort and relaxation with scenic natural views, this is the place to be.

De locatie van het hotel is geweldig. Gelegen in een vallei aan de Douro met een fantastisch zicht. Het hotel is zeer rustig gelegen, een beetje geïsoleerd zelfs. De aankomst was goed, we kregen een warm welkom. Het personeel van het ganse hotel was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Onze dochter van 12 had een volwaardig 3de bed, geen kampeer- of uitvouwbedje. Dat hebben we ten zeerste geapprecieerd. Het ontbijt was zeer uitgebreid (buffetvorm) en van goede kwaliteit. De laatste avond werd ons gemeld dat er erg weinig gasten in het hotel verbleven en of we het ok vonden om een ontbijt à-la-carte te kiezen om op deze manier verspilling tegen te gaan. Het gemeenschappelijke terras naast het zwembad was heel aangenaam, met loungezeteltjes. Er was ook mogelijkheid om buiten te eten (zowel voor ontbijt als voor lunch en diner). We hebben 2x in het hotel gedineerd. De kaart was klein van keuze, maar was wel lekker. Wat we minder vonden: - De hotelkamer was aan de kleine kant. - We vonden het jammer dat er geen balkon was, zodat we 's avonds nog van het mooie zicht konden genieten. - Het zwembad was niet verwarmd. Maar het mooie zicht maakte veel goed. - De uitrusting van de badkamer was een beetje passé. - Weinig parkeermogelijkheid door de naastgelegen watersportclub.

It was absolutely amazing stay that we had in Douro valley thanks to the Douro Royal valley Hotel&Spa, especially because our trip took place when it was mostly raining… luckily, me and my husband were able to use that time properly in the hotel’s spa, having massage, enjoying the time in the swimming pool, spending some time in sauna and even at the gym. Thanks to hotel’s facilities the trip was not a waste of time, we could rest actively, we also enjoyed very much the overall ambience of the hotel and taking care of the personell so that overall the hotel is a calm place to stay at. What caught us by surprise was absolutely stunning dinner- each out of 6 courses we had was prepared and served with such a mastery that we thought we are at the resturant with micheline star chef- chapeau bas to the Chef - your courses are absolute masterpiece and the best of the best we tried on our 2-week trip in Portugal. The stay exceeded our expectations! Wonderful place, service and food! The room was clean and tidy, with a view and very cozy. Fresh apples available in the room and water was a lovely addition. Swimming pool and parking slot available. And last but not least the breakfast and dinner - deserves more than 10 stars! Thanks a lot! Evgeniya

I’ve never been so confused and lost in a hotel until this stay. I was unable to figure out how to find reception or my room or get anywhere! Part of the reason is because no staff member initially explained how to get to my room—taking one elevator down then going across a hallway and taking another elevator up. It’s a crazy hotel design. I felt like the hotel was understaffed during my visit. I stayed as a part of a tour group. The restaurant food was fantastic. The presentation was beautiful. Don’t skip dessert; it was fabulous. Our tour guide interpreted from Portuguese to English so we did not have the problems with the staff members as other reviewers have mentioned. Breakfast lay out was very nice. The grounds are beautiful. My room overlooked the valley and the pool. It had a small balcony. I opened the sliding glass door in the morning, and I listen to the sounds of birds. It was very calm and peaceful. The Jacuzzi was not heated. That was a big disappointment. The indoor pool was a great warm temperature – it might’ve been warmer than the Jacuzzi. The interior pool area is all black, and it is difficult to swim for exercise because you can’t see when the wall is coming up. It feels like you’re in a burnt out building. I don’t know why they selected that color scheme. It is very dark. The gym was very minimal with only a few pieces of equipment. See my photo. There is a small museum on the grounds but it’s all in Portuguese. All the television channels were in Portuguese. The Internet worked well. As others have mentioned, the room layout is very odd. It is always damp because your shower and bathtub are kind of near the bed with no separation. I did not see any mold in my room as other reviewers reported. The room was large but a big portion was unusable at the entrance separated by a wooden slat wall. There is no reading light above the bed so reading before sleep is impossible. There is no make up mirror, and the hairdryer is a basic model, which takes a very long time to actually dry your hair. There were no areas to hang your bathing suit to dry . This was extremely frustrating since the hotel has two pools. I wasn’t here long enough to go exploring, but I could see an old church up the hill. This hotel is OK for one or two nights if you get a good rate.
