Very good location close to the main road. Bakery opposite. The supermarket is less than a kilometer away. Good laundry along with a drying room (thanks to the nice lady from the reception I did not have to pay extra). Very nice and helpful staff. My room with the bathroom was small, but in my opinion it was worth the price I paid.
The location is quite superior. On the main road, there is a gas station nearby. There is a convenience store with a late opening hours. It is rich in things. Many restaurants in the town are closed at 9:00 in the evening. There is also a side. Park, good scenery. The front desk was very nice and the reception was very kind. When checking in, I also sent local fresh milk. The labor cost is higher there, and the front desk and the cleaning seem to be one person, so it is best to clean it when you check out. There is also a beach in Timaru. In the evening, you can see the blue penguin homing. If you miss the Omaru Penguin Protection Center, you can choose to watch it inside.
DATE OF TRAVEL: July 2023 Stayed here for 3 days for a business trip. First impressions were.... disappointing. The hotel was empty, the chef was also at reception and the building looks run down. HOWEVER, check in was fast, the rooms were well appointed, if well travelled, and the bed was very comfy. Sadly I didn't get back to my hotel room until late night each night but the breakfast was fantastic and affordable. All the staff were super friendly, welcoming and accomondating. Room walls were thick as I didn't hear my colleagues in the other rooms at all, even when we were talking. Shower was great. Good pressure and the bathroom had all the basic amenities you would need for a regional motel. Though some people may not like it, the interestingly spaced corridors made the hotel feel like a rabbit warren and I actually quite enjoyed that. The gym was probably the best one I'd seen in all of my hotel stays in Canterbury. I was really impressed. Sadly it was closed before I left and when I came back so didn't get a chance to try it. It's only a few minutes away from the main restaurant ***** of the town and the food at all of them was fantastic. Caroline Bay Beach is beautiful and I enjoyed my morning walks there. Would I stay again? Though I may never have a need to again, most definitely if the need did arise. First looks are certainly deceiving with this place but push through it and you'll find yourself a gem of a stay =)

Stayed at Aspen on King for 4 nights with my Ma and we absolutely loved it. Just a hop into the village and such a great unit too. We had one of the wheelchair access units which meant it had a big open wet floor shower, it was great for Ma that it wasn't a shower over bath situation. The wee kitchen was perfect for cooking a meal at night and the amenities were ample. Hosts were great also, very obliging 👍. Beds were very comfy and pillows very soft. Full size fridge and had a front and back door which created a nice breezy flow through. Television with DVD built in and tones of great DVDs to borrow from the reception.

The motel is conveniently located near the Botanical Gardens south of the centre of Timaru. It is on a main road, but we heard no road noise, despite being only two units back from the entrance. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had the impression that our unit had been built a couple of decades back, but had been renovated to a modern standard. It was spacious, with a large living room, a small kitchen, a spacious bathroom, and two bedrooms each with a large double bed (this meant the space around them was quite narrow). We were very comfortable there.
I have stayed at Bay Viaduct many times over the year for work. Without fail the level of service from Carol and Noel is outstanding, the rooms are immaculate and very comfortable. I always feel at home here.
my mum and i were at the Fitzgerald on King late last year,2020,I booked in again with them a couple of months ago,i told some lady name Jane,i needed the Disability Unit,No 1 for my mum who could not walk,i made it quite clear to her,she did not even tell me that others had moved in after last October 2020, an were still there, she told me lies,i had the Disability Unit booked for the 27 October 2021,i couldnt make it cos there was a truck accident i rang her in good faith an told her as to why i could nt make it on that date, till next day, that is when she told me theres already some one in that Disability Unit,i said good be up the next day, when i was in Oamaru ,i rang her when ill be arriving she told me u know wot unit your got i said unit one she said no i told you already some one in there,i through it was for one nite that person was there for,i complaint to her through email when i got to that motel on Thursday 28 October 2021,no way could my mum uses the shower there she has crook legs an has a disability, etc, when i complaint to her again through email she told lies after lies,i was basically told to leave the next day by her husband, lucky i had already had another Motel, with a disability Unit, her husband told me i was to go,then an hour later he told me to hurry up cos the cleaners want to clean the motel,he told me it was a mis communication between her an i an it wasnt, she was very rude to me,if i didnt have a place to go to i would of been stuck, with my mum been in her 80,s they dd not care, they were good last year 2020,WINZS uses them for emergency housing, shes very arrogant,we only had one night there,so had to pack up again an leave she had told me i booked in for November 21 that was not even true i was leaving in early November,so ppl if your reading all this do not touch thoses two motels
The motel room I have stayed in is quite big, it is a suite, with the hall facing the road, so that the bedroom is not noisy. It is clean and the facilities are relatively new. The landlord likes to share raising butterflies, the kind that start with larvae, and observe the growth process:)

Caroline Bay Association
TtravelerererCaroline Bay, really beautiful and picturesque, we are driving by the way, passing this bay, so stop, blowing the sea breeze here, looking at the scenery, really too comfortable and leisurely.
Timaru - Little blue penguins
铨铨上风满楼Located near Timaru Beach, you can see a good blue penguin 🐧, suitable for tourists...
Caroline Bay Beach
铨铨上风满楼Great beach, located in Timaru, suitable for friends of all ages.
Timaru Botanic Gardens
王王海娃子Timap was once a major port for exporting cattle and sheep, but I didn't expect there would be so many plant species here. Located in the central and southern part of the South Island, the latitude is relatively high, but the botanical garden here is not inferior to that of the North Island.
South Canterbury Museum
王王海娃子The museum has a large collection of historical materials that recall the courage of the pioneers when they came to the Canterbury Plain.
