The hotel is close to the airport and is on the main road to Tekapo. The owner is Chinese. My plane is in the middle of the night. It is almost two o'clock to arrive at the hotel. The boss has opened the heating in the room and it is very warm in the room. Because of the late arrival, I contacted the password of the room key box in advance, but I didn’t think that the New Zealand hotel used a very old password box. After a long time, I didn’t open it. The boss heard the movement and helped open it. Hotel facilities are ok.

Great motel, good location & fantastic helpful and sweet host, Rose. We stayed at Admiral Hotel for 5 days and enjoyed every minute of it. It’s very clean and nice rooms with everything you need; big kitchen with supplies, nice bed and great shower. The hotel is located near city center and only takes 10-15 minutes walk. But the best thing about this hotel is the owner Rose. She is the much loving women, who did everything in her power to let us have the best vacation ever! From we stepped into her motel we felt at home. And even her husband Terry, showed us great hospitality. We can’t thank them enough. All our best recommendations to Admiral Hotel!

We rented the two bedroom apartment on the first floor for 160nz$ per night which is great price for the big rooms. Kitchen has a cooker, oven and microwave and fridge which were all in good working order. One room is a double bed with heaters on the bed and the other room had twin beds also with heat. There was an extra bed in the lounge area and a newish couch. Table and 4 chairs which need an upgrade . Curtains we new and nice. Parking was fine . They not so great things are the water pressure. Some days there were hardly any pressure. Cleaning could be better - and some days there were no house keeping which does not bother me too much but might be important for some. That said the request for clean towels etc were met promptly but very nice and accommodating owners. Location was great.

We've stayed here several times now because of the central location, quick trip to the airport and access to a variety of restaurants and shops. We were absolutely delighted to be upgraded to a one bedroom unit with a separate lounge/dining area for extra comfort, thank you Apollo team! The rooms are well equipped with full kitchen facilities for meal preparation, great shower and comfy bed. Only one thing that we can see improved is a deep clean of the bathroom and shower area to remove dustiness in corners and mould from the shower cavity. Perhaps a good dose of bleach, 30 seconds shower spray and remove and clean the rubber seals in the shower. We'll definitely be back again.

This is the second time we stayed here. We found the experience very relaxing and the hosts extremely accommodating. They went out of their way to please us and succeeded in doing so. The room we had was perfect for us. The motel itself is probably a bit dated but nonetheless, comfortable, clean and tidy. The rooms are a good size and contain all that is necessary for a long or short stay. I believe there is a pool although we didn't use it. Outside the gate there is a bus stop for your convenience and a Z petrol station right next door. Plenty of eateries in walking distance. If you want a comfortable stay with very good hosts this is the place for you. Thank you so much to our hosts for all they did for us.

This motel must have been built about ten years ago with no investment since. Beds are reasonable and the bare essentials are here. Staff are friendly and helpful. However motel now looks tired and worn with the occasional thing that requires maintenance (pop up plug in bathroom no longer works, blinds in bedroom do not seal properly etc). For $240/night I would have expected better quality.

The hotel is small, new and in excellent condition. It is comparable to 3.5 to 4 star hotel. The room size is excellent if you book the 1 or 2 bedroom unit. The hotel provides basic amenities like brushes, toothpaste, slippers and cooking facilities etc. Also free parking. Location is excellent and close to Westfield mall. The hotel has a cafe call Ngon Ngon and serve good food especially Vietnamese beef noddle. One setback is aircon is in the main or living room, the bedroom does not have aircon.

FforestberryHas been greeted with a warm welcome upon arrival. The receptionist even showed our room till the doorstep. Also given some chocolates upon entering the room.
Pros: A very big room, double glazed glass, the bathroom is even disabled friendly. An afequate continental breakfast is served to the room (in the evening).
A nice clean small kitchen with a toaster, microwave, small fridge and a cooking stove (although we dont use them) is available.
Room is clean, with a huge tv set. Sifa set, dinner table and working table.
Restaurants are just round the corner.
Really recommend this place.

GGuest UserThe family room is huge! The beds can fit 2 adults and 4 children (if the hotel allows). We used this as a one night hotel stay before heading to the airport in the morning. The staff kindly helped my children check in and bring our numerous luggage to the room because my husband and I had to rush to Hertz to drop off the car. Sorry we didn’t tip as we didn’t know who you were! But thank you! We really should’ve stayed one more night and eaten at the 4.5 star google rated restaurant in the hotel. Can walk to shops + major car drop off. Apx NZD$30 Uber ride to airport!

Staff were amazing. So very accommodating. Listening to all your needs and running with all your requirements. Very friendly team. Beds are very comfortable. Situated within walking distance of hospital and lots of places to eat around as well. A mall is not far away. Prices to stay were excellent.

BBOON TECKMy room was not cleaned up despite me putting up a door notice for housekeeping for the day. When I returned to my room in the evening, I was told to my surprise that my booking did not include housekeeping. The website of Breakfree at Cashel mentioned housekeeping is available. I was not informed that my booking omitted this service. Furthermore, I was told to collect new towels by myself at the counter. I just don't feel the hotel is not up to the mark in this aspect.
Other things I am not quite happy about is that the room space is too small for easy packing and unpacking of my luggage but I suppose I get what I paid for, which is ok.
I have decided to move to other hotel for the rest of my journey in Christchurch for the above reasons

Really impressed. Lady at reception was so so helpful and finally a hotel that provided real milk upon check in. Old fashioned some quaint anomalies I havent seen for yonks. Roomy, neat and tidy. I toddled up to reception in heavy rain to order continental breakfast and the same helpful lady was so helpful, gave me a few tips and showed me how to get back to room undercover. Complimentary drink at bar, free guest laundry so friendly staff in restaurant as well, good food. Very rarely give 5 stars but Redwood deserves them! Am looking at riding around south island next summer and if I do, will definitely stay at Redwood again.

YYANSHUII booked 3 bedrooms apartment with 3 queen beds and 1 sofa bed. The room is good. The only negative feedback is about the extra charge $30 each for children over 2 years old per night, as many hotels don’t charge children under 11 if they use existing beds. And more importantly, those hotels provide the info on Trip. I was surprised when I was told about the extra charge $180 for 3 children for 2 nights, eventually negotiated down to $90. I would suggest the hotel put children policy on Trip so that people is aware of extra $30 per child (over 2 years old) when they make the booking instead of checking in.

Cathedral Square
旅旅の径Cathedral Square is located in the downtown area of Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand. It is the historical center of Christchurch and was once the main place for citizens to gather. It is now the transportation center of the city and the activity center for tourists (especially pedestrians). It is a must-visit place for visiting Christchurch.
The most vicissitudes. The Christchurch Cathedral (the square is named after it), which was built from 1864 to 1904, encountered two earthquakes during its construction. After its completion, it became a classic landmark of Christchurch with its elegant shape and 63-meter-high Gothic spire.
The 6.3-magnitude earthquake in February 2011 caused serious damage to Christchurch. The spire of the cathedral collapsed, half of the tower remained, and only the nave was completely preserved. The damaged building has not been repaired yet and is tightly surrounded by cold scaffolding.
The most eye-catching. In the center of the square, there is a memorial statue of John Robert Cordley, the founder of the Canterbury region where Christchurch is located.
The most literary. On one side of the square, there is a giant chessboard, with red/black chess pieces 50-80 cm high. In 2001, in order to welcome the arrival of the millennium and celebrate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of Christchurch and Canterbury, the "Millennium Holy Grail" sculpture was placed in the square. The 18-meter-high sculpture is in the shape of a slender cone, with abstract shape, concrete decoration, hollow outer circle, silver-gray outer wall and azure inner core. Between the layers, the leaves of 8 native plants such as the leaves of New Zealand's national flower-silver fern, are intertwined and stretched upward, symbolizing vitality and prosperity.
The most convenient. The retro tram has a station on one side of the square, which has become a beautiful landscape. The retro tram with a 2.6-kilometer operating route and 17 stops can easily reach the main attractions in the city.

New Brighton Beach
Yyangduoduo17We stayed 2 nights in South Brighton, less than a block from the beach and across the dunes to the sea. Black sand beaches are rare and there are lots of driftwood and locals turn them into interesting pieces. There are many shells on the way to the pier. This area is perfect for families, elderly people, couples to sit, relax and enjoy, there are some small restaurants, coffee shops nearby, not bad. The coastal streets are displayed with fantastic sandstone and other materials sculptures. You must have a good stroll around them. There are outstanding works by locals. I recommend staying here if you want to stay away from the city, and it’s not too far to go to the city if you want. You can enjoy the essence of both worlds.
